Planar Multibody Dynamics: Formulation, Programming with MATLAB®, and Applications, Second Edition, provides sets of methodologies for analyzing the dynamics of mechanical systems, such as mechanisms and machineries, with coverage of both classical and modern principles. Using clear and concise language, the text introduces fundamental theories, computational methods, and program development for analyzing simple to complex systems. MATLAB is used throughout, with examples beginning with basic commands before introducing students to more advanced programming techniques. The simple programs developed in each chapter come together to form complete programs for different types of analysis. Features Two new chapters on free-body diagram and vector-loop concepts demonstrate that the modern computational techniques of formulating the equations of motion is merely an organized and systematic interpretation of the classical methods A new chapter on modeling impact between rigid bodies is based on two concepts known as continuous and piecewise methods A thorough discussion on modeling friction and the associated computational issues The short MATLAB® programs that are listed in the book can be downloaded from a companion website Several other MATLAB® programs and their user manuals can be downloaded from the companion website including: a general purpose program for kinematic, inverse dynamic, and forward dynamic analysis; a semi-general-purpose program that allows student to experiment with his or her own formulation of equations of motion; a special-purpose program for kinematic and inverse dynamic analysis of four-bar mechanisms The preceding three sets of programs contain animation capabilities for easy visualization of the simulated motion A greater range of examples, problems, and projects

Multibody Systems written by Christoph Woernle and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-07-23 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The book Multibody Systems guides the reader from the fundamentals of engineering mechanics to the formulations of the kinematic and dynamic equations of systems of rigid bodies suitable for computational generation. Multibody systems are used for the numerical simulation of complex mechanical systems in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, aerospace engineering, and biomechanics. The presentation focuses on the implicit and explicit mathematical formulations of the bonds that geometrically constrain the motion of the partial bodies and define the directions of the reaction forces and reaction moments. This results in a consistent and common approach to the various known forms of the equations of motion of multibody systems. In addition to open multibody systems with a tree structure, closed multibody systems with kinematic loops are also treated in detail. In the third edition, planar multibody systems are presented in a separate chapter to facilitate the transition from mass point systems to spatial multibody systems.

Engineering Dynamics 2 0 written by Lester W. Schmerr and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-10 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book presents a new approach to learning the dynamics of particles and rigid bodies at an intermediate to advanced level. There are three distinguishing features of this approach. First, the primary emphasis is to obtain the equations of motion of dynamical systems and to solve them numerically. As a consequence, most of the analytical exercises and homework found in traditional dynamics texts written at this level are replaced by MATLAB®-based simulations. Second, extensive use is made of matrices. Matrices are essential to define the important role that constraints have on the behavior of dynamical systems. Matrices are also key elements in many of the software tools that engineers use to solve more complex and practical dynamics problems, such as in the multi-body codes used for analyzing mechanical, aerospace, and biomechanics systems. The third and feature is the use of a combination of Newton-Euler and Lagrangian (analytical mechanics) treatments for solving dynamics problems. Rather than discussing these two treatments separately, Engineering Dynamics 2.0 uses a geometrical approach that ties these two treatments together, leading to a more transparent description of difficult concepts such as "virtual" displacements. Some important highlights of the book include: Extensive discussion of the role of constraints in formulating and solving dynamics problems. Implementation of a highly unified approach to dynamics in a simple context suitable for a second-level course. Descriptions of non-linear phenomena such as parametric resonances and chaotic behavior. A treatment of both dynamic and static stability. Overviews of the numerical methods (ordinary differential equation solvers, Newton-Raphson method) needed to solve dynamics problems. An introduction to the dynamics of deformable bodies and the use of finite difference and finite elementmethods. Engineering Dynamics 2.0 provides a unique, modern treatment of dynamics problems that is directly useful in advanced engineering applications. It is a valuable resource for undergraduate and graduate students and for practicing engineers.
