Na medicina antroposófica, ramo da Antroposofia, temos a abrangência e a humanização. Em relação à abrangência, tem que se saber dos fundamentos. Com os anos, o organismo tende a apresentar mais doenças do polo de endurecimento (sistema neurossensorial) como artrose, câncer, Parkinson, AVC, infarto, Alzheimer, diabetes mellitus e outras. A pessoa acometida busca os especialistas. Mas é necessário ter a visão do todo. Aqui entra a Medicina Antroposófica. Se tem uma, por que não terá outras? Para se fazer a prevenção em tempo e não só tratar as doenças uma a uma. Chegando à polifarmacoterapia, à incapacitação, ao extremo sofrimento. Utiliza-se do seu polo oposto, o sistema metabólico- motor (movimento, calor). E o coração, que é do meio. O calor do coração atenua o formativo da cabeça; o pensamento torna-se vivo. Fazem parte da trimembração. Outro fator que pode endurecer é o corpo astral. O seu polo é o corpo etérico. Um, o predador; outro, seu repasto. Em condições normais, o animal e o vegetativo. Há emoções do cotidiano que podem se "tornar grandes predadores: contrariedade, ressentimento, raiva, crítica, condenação, julgamento, retaliação, vingança, discórdia. Fisiologicamente útil. Animicamente o que nos derruba. É pelo nosso Eu, pela nossa consciência crística, pelo espiritual, que fazemos frente aos desvios do corpo astral. Foram citados dados da quadrimembração. Quanto à humanização, resgata-se o inteiro da pessoa, em seu contexto de corpo, alma e espírito. A Antroposofia é, nas palavras de Rudolf Steiner, seu criador, "um caminho cognitivo pelo qual se estabelece sua ligação entre o que existe de espiritual no homem e no Universo".

What were once considered normal human events and common human problems—birth, aging, menopause, alcoholism, and obesity—are now viewed as medical conditions. For better or worse, medicine increasingly permeates aspects of daily life. Building on more than three decades of research, Peter Conrad explores the changing forces behind this trend with case studies of short stature, social anxiety, "male menopause," erectile dysfunction, adult ADHD, and sexual orientation. He examines the emergence of and changes in medicalization, the consequences of the expanding medical domain, and the implications for health and society. He finds in recent developments—such as the growing number of possible diagnoses and biomedical enhancements—the future direction of medicalization. Conrad contends that the impact of medical professionals on medicalization has diminished. Instead, the pharmaceutical and biotechnical industries, insurance companies and HMOs, and the patient as consumer have become the major forces promoting medicalization.
