“Where are we?” Funeesha asked, looking around in disbelief. “Funtartica,” the Fun Queen replied. “The home of the Funearians.” At that moment, Funeesha’s attention turned towards two children and an adult running towards them. “Funeesha! Funeesha!” One of them was yelling. As they got closer, she saw it was Nayfun. “Nayfun!” she screamed and ran towards him. They hugged each other and both jumped around with excitement. As she jumped, her eyes caught a glimpse of the adult standing with them. Funeesha gasped, stunned by what she saw. She froze and gazed in astonishment. “Grandad!” she screamed and leapt towards him. He picked her up, wrapped his arms around her tightly, and spun around several times, as tears filled both their eyes. “I've missed hugging you so much,” she said. “I am always with you, Funeesha,” said Grandad, as he comforted her. They stood holding each other for a moment with no words-- just tears of joy.

Funeesha was a bright intelligent, fun loving happy 5 year old, who had not a care in the world about anything except for the next fun thing to do. Everything she did in her life from moment to moment had to be based around having fun. She lived in a small apartment on the northwest side of London called Bridgestone, with her very busy hard working Jamaican parents, who never seemed happy and hardly ever smiled. Her mum, a school teacher, would always moan about how much work she had to do and the little time she had for herself. Her dad was a talented but struggling musician and complained most of the time about how hard life was.

But before the Fun Queen had finished her sentence, Funeesha had dashed towards a large square trampoline, removed her shoes, climbed on, and began leaping into the air as high as she could possibly go. Boing! Boing! Boing! Funeesha was bumping into the other children who were all thrown off their feet. "Oh, this is so much fuuun,” she screamed as she leaped from one trampoline to another. Boing! She was thrown six feet into the air, and let out a loud scream as she came crashing down. Boing! She sprang back into the air. Boing! Boing! Boing! She kept bouncing and bouncing and would not stop. "This is Fun-nomenal," she said. “What a bouncy trampoline this is.”

Funeesha got on the trainer's back and he swam towards the dolphins. The trainer held onto the fin of each dolphin with each hand. Slowly, the dolphins swam around the pool, carrying Funeesha and the trainer along with them. Round and round the pool they went, picking up speed as they swam along. Soon, they were going as fast as a speed boat. "I love this!" yelled Funeesha. "This is so much fun. I never want this to end." After a few minutes, the dolphins carried them back to where the Fun Queen was standing. The trainer lifted Funeesha onto the side of the pool. "Did you have fun?" asked the Fun Queen. "Fun?!" replied Funeesha. "That was absolutely Fun-tastic," she exclaimed, as they laughed with joy.

“First up, we have a hippopotamus,” said the ringmaster. “But this is no ordinary hippo. Please give a warm welcome for Hippo the Hilarious.” The crowd started to clap as the enormous beast emerged. Hippo the Hilarious approached the microphone and started to tell jokes. Funeesha looked on in astonishment. She had not expected to be watching a talking hippo. She slowly turned her head towards the Funqueen and asked, “Is this for real?” “Well, I did tell you this was going to be special,” said the Fun Queen. The crowd were enjoying the show so much that they were holding their stomachs and falling over with laughter. Funeesha and the Fun Queen were both having a hard time trying to keep themselves composed. They chuckled away continuously until Hippo the Hilarious was finished.

Mathematical Statistics written by Johann Pfanzagl and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-10-23 with Mathematics categories.

This book presents a detailed description of the development of statistical theory. In the mid twentieth century, the development of mathematical statistics underwent an enduring change, due to the advent of more refined mathematical tools. New concepts like sufficiency, superefficiency, adaptivity etc. motivated scholars to reflect upon the interpretation of mathematical concepts in terms of their real-world relevance. Questions concerning the optimality of estimators, for instance, had remained unanswered for decades, because a meaningful concept of optimality (based on the regularity of the estimators, the representation of their limit distribution and assertions about their concentration by means of Anderson’s Theorem) was not yet available. The rapidly developing asymptotic theory provided approximate answers to questions for which non-asymptotic theory had found no satisfying solutions. In four engaging essays, this book presents a detailed description of how the use of mathematical methods stimulated the development of a statistical theory. Primarily focused on methodology, questionable proofs and neglected questions of priority, the book offers an intriguing resource for researchers in theoretical statistics, and can also serve as a textbook for advanced courses in statisticc.

The Art And Science Of Surround And Stereo Recording written by Edwin Pfanzagl-Cardone and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-01-09 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book presents an extensive and timely survey of more than 30 surround and 20 stereo-microphone techniques. Further, it offers, for the first time, an explanation of why the RCA "Living Stereo" series of legacy recordings from the 1950s and 60s is still appreciated by music lovers worldwide, despite their use of an apparently incorrect recording technique from the perspective of psychoacoustics. Discussing this aspect in detail, the book draws on the author’s study of concert hall acoustics and psychoacoustics. The book also analyzes the "fingerprint" features of a selected number of surround and – more importantly – stereo microphone techniques in depth by measuring their signal cross-correlation over frequency and also using an artificial human head. In addition, the book presents a rating of microphone techniques based on the assessment of various acoustic attributes, and merges the results of several subjective listening tests, including those conducted by other researchers. Building on this knowledge, it provides fresh insights into important microphone system features, from stereo to 3D audio. Moreover, it describes new microphone techniques, such as AB-PC, ORTF-T and BPT, and the recently defined BQIrep (Binaural Quality Index of reproduced music). Lastly, the book concludes with a short history of microphone techniques and case studies of live and studio recordings.

Australians remember the dead of 25 April 1915 on Anzac Day every year. But do we know the name of a single soldier who died that day? What do we really know about the men supposedly most cherished in the national memory of war? Peter Stanley goes looking for the Lost Boys of Anzac: the men of the very first wave to land at dawn on 25 April 1915 and who died on that day. There were exactly 101 of them. They were the first to volunteer, the first to go into action, and the first of the 60,000 Australians killed in that conflict. Lost Boys of Anzac traces who these men were, where they came from and why they came to volunteer for the AIF in 1914. It follows what happened to them in uniform and, using sources overlooked for nearly a century, uncovers where and how they died, on the ridges and gullies of Gallipoli – where most of them remain to this day. And we see how the Lost Boys were remembered by those who knew and loved them, and how they have since faded from memory.
