Further Up The Inverted Pyramid written by George Wilson and has been published by Book Guild Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-01-29 with Body, Mind & Spirit categories.

This is the third of George Wilson’s fascinating explanations of his personal spiritual philosophy, first outlined in his previous books At Last I Know and Through the Doors of Time. The author interweaves his profound spiritual observations with recollections of his life, from childhood days in Motherwell to a career in heavy industry that took the author and his family wherever there was work, including Zambia and South Africa. These reminiscences are often humorous, though sometimes poignant and deeply moving. Reflecting on his profound observations and supporting them with references from the Bible, the author explains his theory on the nature of the human soul and its relationship with God. Personal tragedy has led to the author taking his lifelong belief in a benign supernatural force and eternal reincarnation to a greater depth, from where he has taken solace. George Wilson was born in Flemington, Scotland, and pursued a career in industry as a Comprehensive International Welding Inspector. He retired in 2003 and currently lives in South Africa.

Hierarchical Emergent Ontology And The Universal Principle Of Emergence written by Vladimír Havlík and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-04-12 with Science categories.

This book offers a new look at emergence in terms of a hierarchical emergent ontology. Emergence is recognised as a universal principle, as universal as the principle of evolution. This is achieved by setting out the ontological criteria of emergence and such criteria’s various roles. The traditional dichotomies are overcome, e.g., the synchronic and diachronic perspectives are unified, allowing a single, universal principle of emergence to be applied across various fields of science. As exemplars of its practical utility in both explanation and prediction, this new approach is applied to three different scientific areas: cellular automata, quantum Hall effects, and the neural network of the mind. It proves that the resulting metaphysics of hierarchical emergent ontology plays a fundamental role in unifying science, an impossible task under classical reductionism.

Sociology And Music Education written by Ruth Wright and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-05 with Music categories.

Sociology and Music Education addresses a pressing need to provide a sociological foundation for understanding music education. The music education community, academic and professional, has become increasingly aware of the need to locate the issues facing music educators within a broader sociological context. This is required both as a means to deeper understanding of the issues themselves and as a means to raising professional consciousness of the macro issues of power and politics by which education is often constrained. The book outlines some introductory concepts in sociology and music education and then draws together seminal theoretical insights with examples from practice with innovative applications of sociological theory to the field of music education. The editor has taken great care to select an international community of experienced researchers and practitioners as contributors who reflect current trends in the sociology of music education in Europe and the UK. The book concludes with an Afterword by Christopher Small.

Drawing from extensive fieldwork in schools across the United States, Madison demonstrates how this approach is uniquely aligned with Common Core State Standards that call for more emphasis on nonfiction texts and digital literacy skills. Centered on research and writing projects that will yield publishable student writing, chapters demonstrate how this approach works across contexts and benefits a broad range of students from diverse backgrounds. The text also explores new and affordable approaches to teacher training. Book Features: Shows ELA teachers how to better engage students in reading and writing by tapping into their interests.
