Rap is a genre of music that will almost always provoke some type of emotion. Our book is based off one of those emotions-- the ongoing debate about who are the greatest rappers of all time (G.O.A.T.). But instead of just throwing our personal opinions out there, we came up with a mathematical system that kept us as honest and objective as possible. Each artist was rated numerically based off ten criteria, and these numbers also included data from public album averages from two different sites. These total numbers put them in order-- not us. We started this project on August 12, 2012, and did not finish until September 30, 2013. So a lot of work, time, integrity, and attention were put into it. This book has been fun and at times chaotic, but it has given us a new appreciation for the genre. Please do not take this book too serious, but respect the work and effort put into it. We would like to give much respect and luv to all the artists keeping Hip Hop alive and respected. Secular Devotion written by Timothy Brennan and has been published by Verso Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-05 with Music categories.

Popular music in the Americas, from jazz, Cuban and Latin salsa to disco and rap, is overwhelmingly neo-African. Created in the midst of war and military invasion, and filtered through a Western worldview, these musical forms are completely modern in their sensibilities: they are in fact the very sound of modern life. But the African religious philosophy at their core involved a longing for earlier eras-ones that pre-dated the technological discipline of labor forced on captive populations by the European occupiers. In this groundbreaking new book, Timothy Brennan shows how the popular music of the Americas-the music of entertainment, nightlife, and leisure-is involved in a devotion to an African religious worldview that survived the ravages of slavery and found its way into the rituals of everyday listening. In doing so he explores the challenge posed by Afro-Latin music to a world music system dominated by a few wealthy countries and the processes by which Afro-Latin music has been absorbed into the imperial imagination.

Mares, Foals & Ferraris is a rather convoluted and hilarious tale of one man's quest to quit driving a school bus and become some sort of farmer. Like most quests, this one went a little sideways. Instead of turnips, he got racehorses. But underneath this story is another: a child trying to grow up in a violent world, a young adult trapped between a reluctant acceptance of what is and the seemingly desperate pursuit of the elusive what if. And most importantly, the endless conflicts, both political and personal that wander through each ensuing generation - the restless ghosts of the what was. Two puzzling questions the book may finally answer: why do some children run away to live with animals, and, on the more capricious side of life's mysteries: why do some people breed racehorses when they could just as easily afford a Ferrari? Maybe two. A. Allan Juell has been writing about horses and the people...well, those folks that tend to hang around with large hairy mammals for roughly thirty years. His work has appeared in periodicals such as Washington Thoroughbred, EQUUS, Chronicle of the Horse, Western Horseman, Thoroughbred Times, Anvil Magazine and others, both regional and international. He picked up a few obscure literary awards along the way, as well as copious amounts of 'enlightened' criticism. He spent his first thirty years working as a farrier and farm manager and about fifteen years as an itinerant journalist, wandering most of the world's habitable continents and questionable bars. He holds a degree in history and sometimes attempts to further confuse the world's problems at Histryonics.com. His early years were spent in the urban rainforests of Seattle, though currently he hangs out in Redwood City, California. And yeah, he still drives a bus from time to time.

Tears Of A Gangster written by Valentine and has been published by Balboa Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-07-21 with Fiction categories.

This book is the story of the reality of New York street gang in the late 90s to present. It is about the violence, the passion, the despair, the pain, the loyalty, and the disloyalty. It is the true story of the destruction of families caused by violence, incarceration and racism. It is about murder, rape, betrayal, and the injustice of the justice system. This is a society that fails to protect, defend, educate, rehabilitate, and inspire young people to succeed and families to grow and flourish. It’s the Bronx and rawness of the ghetto. It’s the true life story of actual individuals with their identities masked to protect them from further harm. Blacks, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Latin Americans, Muslims, Israelites, and the police are all engaged in a battle to dominate and to survive. The backdrop is the Bronx, the inner city and one of poorest congressional districts in the United States. It is about a failing school system, the question of race, the history of conflict, and the brainwashing of a society to ignore the truth and keep living a lie. The games they play out in the street pit females against females, and the cost is not being able to trust anyone or anything. Ask yourself the question, Could you survive this world? Can anyone survive this world? This is the world that some people live in, some people fear, and some people have never heard of. It is also the world that those in power don’t want you to know about so that they can continue to profit off the misery and suffering of people fighting, trying, and doing their best to keep each other down. They’re down lower than you can ever imagine or believe someone can go.
