Gems Computers And Attractors For 3 Manifolds written by S¢stenes Lins and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995 with Mathematics categories.

This book is about dealing with 3-manifolds using computers. Its emphasis is on presenting algorithms which are used for solving (in practice) the homeomorphism problem for the smallest of these objects. The key concept is the 3-gem, a special kind of edge-colored graph, which encodes the manifold via a ball complex. Passages between 3-gems and more standard presentations like Heegaard diagrams and surgery descriptions are provided. A catalogue of all closed orientable 3-manifolds induced by 3-gems up to 30 vertices is included. In order to help the classification, various invariants are presented, including the new quantum invariants.

Algorithmic Topology And Classification Of 3 Manifolds written by Sergei Matveev and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-07-23 with Mathematics categories.

From the reviews of the 1st edition: "This book provides a comprehensive and detailed account of different topics in algorithmic 3-dimensional topology, culminating with the recognition procedure for Haken manifolds and including the up-to-date results in computer enumeration of 3-manifolds. Originating from lecture notes of various courses given by the author over a decade, the book is intended to combine the pedagogical approach of a graduate textbook (without exercises) with the completeness and reliability of a research monograph... All the material, with few exceptions, is presented from the peculiar point of view of special polyhedra and special spines of 3-manifolds. This choice contributes to keep the level of the exposition really elementary. In conclusion, the reviewer subscribes to the quotation from the back cover: "the book fills a gap in the existing literature and will become a standard reference for algorithmic 3-dimensional topology both for graduate students and researchers". Zentralblatt für Mathematik 2004 For this 2nd edition, new results, new proofs, and commentaries for a better orientation of the reader have been added. In particular, in Chapter 7 several new sections concerning applications of the computer program "3-Manifold Recognizer" have been included.

Quantum Invariants written by Tomotada Ohtsuki and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002 with Invariants categories.

This book provides an extensive and self-contained presentation of quantum and related invariants of knots and 3-manifolds. Polynomial invariants of knots, such as the Jones and Alexander polynomials, are constructed as quantum invariants, i.e. invariants derived from representations of quantum groups and from the monodromy of solutions to the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation. With the introduction of the Kontsevich invariant and the theory of Vassiliev invariants, the quantum invariants become well-organized. Quantum and perturbative invariants, the LMO invariant, and finite type invariants of 3-manifolds are discussed. The ChernOCoSimons field theory and the WessOCoZuminoOCoWitten model are described as the physical background of the invariants. Contents: Knots and Polynomial Invariants; Braids and Representations of the Braid Groups; Operator Invariants of Tangles via Sliced Diagrams; Ribbon Hopf Algebras and Invariants of Links; Monodromy Representations of the Braid Groups Derived from the KnizhnikOCoZamolodchikov Equation; The Kontsevich Invariant; Vassiliev Invariants; Quantum Invariants of 3-Manifolds; Perturbative Invariants of Knots and 3-Manifolds; The LMO Invariant; Finite Type Invariants of Integral Homology 3-Spheres. Readership: Researchers, lecturers and graduate students in geometry, topology and mathematical physics."

Linknot Knot Theory By Computer written by Slavik Vlado Jablan and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007-11-16 with Mathematics categories.

LinKnot — Knot Theory by Computer provides a unique view of selected topics in knot theory suitable for students, research mathematicians, and readers with backgrounds in other exact sciences, including chemistry, molecular biology and physics. The book covers basic notions in knot theory, as well as new methods for handling open problems such as unknotting number, braid family representatives, invertibility, amphicheirality, undetectability, non-algebraic tangles, polyhedral links, and (2,2)-moves.Hands-on computations using Mathematica or the webMathematica package LinKnot and beautiful illustrations facilitate better learning and understanding. LinKnot is also a powerful research tool for experimental mathematics implementation of Caudron's ideas. The use of Conway notation enables experimenting with large families of knots and links.Conjectures discussed in the book are explained at length. The beauty, universality and diversity of knot theory is illuminated through various non-standard applications: mirror curves, fullerens, self-referential systems, and KL automata.

One of the most significant unsolved problems in mathematics is the complete classification of knots. The main purpose of this book is to introduce the reader to the use of computer programming to obtain the table of knots. The author presents this problem as clearly and methodically as possible, starting from the very basics. Mathematical ideas and concepts are extensively discussed, and no advanced background is required.

On Complementarity A Universal Organizing Principle written by Jack Shulman Avrin and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-08-06 with Science categories.

It is not uncommon for the Principle of Complementarity to be invoked in either Science or Philosophy, viz. the ancient oriental philosophy of Yin and Yang whose symbolic representation is portrayed on the cover of the book. Or Niels Bohr's use of it as the basis for the so-called Copenhagen interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. This book arose as an outgrowth of the author's previous book entitled 'Knots, Braids and Moebius Strips,' published by World Scientific in 2015, wherein the Principle itself was discovered to be expressible as a simple 2x2 matrix that summarizes the algebraic essence of both the well-known Microbiology of DNA and the author's version of the elementary particles of physics. At that point, the possibility of an even wider utilization of that expression of Complementarity arose. The current book, features Complementarity, in which the matrix algebra is extended to characterize not only DNA itself but the well-known process of its replication, a most gratifying outcome. The book then goes on to explore Complementarity, with and without its matrix expression, as it occurs, not only in much of physics but in its extension to cosmology as well.
