Chapter 1 introduces elementary classical special functions. Gamma, beta, psi, zeta functions, hypergeometric functions and the associated special functions, generalizations to Meijer's G and Fox's H-functions are examined here. Discussion is confined to basic properties and selected applications. Introduction to statistical distribution theory is provided. Some recent extensions of Dirichlet integrals and Dirichlet densities are discussed. A glimpse into multivariable special functions such as Appell's functions and Lauricella functions is part of Chapter 1. Special functions as solutions of differential equations are examined. Chapter 2 is devoted to fractional calculus. Fractional integrals and fractional derivatives are discussed. Their applications to reaction-diffusion problems in physics, input-output analysis, and Mittag-Leffler stochastic processes are developed. Chapter 3 deals with q-hyper-geometric or basic hypergeometric functions. Chapter 4 covers basic hypergeometric functions and Ramanujan's work on elliptic and theta functions. Chapter 5 examines the topic of special functions and Lie groups. Chapters 6 to 9 are devoted to applications of special functions. Applications to stochastic processes, geometric infinite divisibility of random variables, Mittag-Leffler processes, alpha-Laplace processes, density estimation, order statistics and astrophysics problems, are dealt with in Chapters 6 to 9. Chapter 10 is devoted to wavelet analysis. An introduction to wavelet analysis is given. Chapter 11 deals with the Jacobians of matrix transformations. Various types of matrix transformations and the associated Jacobians are provided. Chapter 12 is devoted to the discussion of functions of matrix argument in the real case. Functions of matrix argument and the pathway models along with their applications are discussed.

The Double Mellin Barnes Type Integrals And Their Application To Convolution Theory written by Semyon B Yakubovich and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992-05-26 with Mathematics categories.
This book presents new results in the theory of the double Mellin-Barnes integrals popularly known as the general H-function of two variables.A general integral convolution is constructed by the authors and it contains Laplace convolution as a particular case and possesses a factorization property for one-dimensional H-transform. Many examples of convolutions for classical integral transforms are obtained and they can be applied for the evaluation of series and integrals.

Special Functions Of Mathematics For Engineers written by Larry C. Andrews and has been published by SPIE Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998 with Mathematics categories.
Modern engineering and physical science applications demand a thorough knowledge of applied mathematics, particularly special functions. These typically arise in applications such as communication systems, electro-optics, nonlinear wave propagation, electromagnetic theory, electric circuit theory, and quantum mechanics. This text systematically introduces special functions and explores their properties and applications in engineering and science.

Fading And Shadowing In Wireless Systems written by P. Mohana Shankar and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-05-05 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book offers a comprehensive overview of fading and shadowing in wireless channels. A number of statistical models including simple, hybrid, compound and cascaded ones are presented along with a detailed discussion of diversity techniques employed to mitigate the effects of fading and shadowing. The effects of co-channel interference before and after the implementation of diversity are also analyzed. To facilitate easy understanding of the models and the analysis, the background on probability and random variables is presented with relevant derivations of densities of the sums, products, ratios as well as order statistics of random variables. The book also provides material on digital modems of interest in wireless systems. The updated edition expands the background materials on probability by offering sections on Laplace and Mellin transforms, parameter estimation, statistical testing and receiver operating characteristics. Newer models for fading, shadowing and shadowed fading are included along with the analysis of diversity combining algorithms. In addition, this edition contains a new chapter on Cognitive Radio. Based on the response from readers of the First Edition, detailed Matlab scripts used in the preparation of this edition are provided. Wherever necessary, Maple scripts used are also provided.

Volumes 4 and 5 of the extensive series Integrals and Series are devoted to tables of LaplaceTransforms. In these companion volumes the authors have collected data scatteredthroughout the literature, and have augmented this material with many unpublished resultsobtained in their own research.Volume 4 contains tables of direct Laplace transforms, a number of which are expressed interms of the Meijer G-function. When combined with the table of special cases, theseformulas can be used to obtain Laplace transforms of numerous elementary and specialfunctions of mathematical physics.Volume 5 offers tables of inversion formulas for the Laplace transformation and includestables of factorization and inversion of various integral transforms.
