Excerpt from Geological Collections: Dynamical Geology and Petrography This volume is a Guide to the illustrations of Dynamical Geology in the Vestibule and of Petrography, including both Lithology and Petrology, in Room B. Visitors and students are advised to follow the order of the explana tory text, beginning with the Vestibule and completing the study of the geological agencies before passing to the petrographic collections in Room B. A part only of the main floor of this room is devoted to Petrography, sec tions 24 to 31 and the gallery being reserved, provision ally, for illustrations of the local and New England geology. On entering Room B, the lithologic collection begins on the left hand, in section 1 of the wall-cases, and extends around the room to section 23; while the two central or floor-cases contain the petrologic collection, with the exception of some of the larger illustrations, which are in the table-cases and in the Vestibule.
