El conflicto armado es un suceso que ha sido parte de la historia del país durante las últimas seis décadas. La presencia de grupos armados ilegales en distintas zonas, especialmente en las más aisladas y donde el poder estatal es débil, ha generado un rezago en su desarrollo. Este libro muestra cómo el conflicto armado se correlaciona con la accesibilidad geográfica, lo cual afecta el acceso a derechos, servicios y oportunidades. De acuerdo con ese objetivo, primero, se revisa la historia del conflicto armado y cómo ha afectado las zonas rurales, especialmente de Caldas y el municipio de Samaná, escogidas para realizar el análisis. Luego, se mide el acceso a servicios básicos y la accesibilidad geográfica departamental en relación con las mediciones cuantitativas de incidencia del conflicto armado. Además, se propone una tipología de aislamiento basada en el acceso a servicios de salud y educación superior, que considera la categorización en ruralidad e incidencia del conflicto armado en la región. Por último, se revisa la situación puntual de Samaná y su accesibilidad a distintos puntos de interés. El libro es relevante para público general interesado en el conflicto armado y su relación con la infraestructura y, especialmente, se recomienda a planeadores de política pública en distintos niveles territoriales, dado su análisis profundo sobre la relación entre accesibilidad, ruralidad y conflicto armado en la región.

This collection explores the discursive strategies and linguistic resources underpinning conflict and polarization, taking a multidisciplinary approach to examine the ways in which conflict is constructed across a diverse range of contexts. The volume is divided into two sections as a means of identifying two different dimensions to conflict construction and bridging the gap between different perspectives through a constructivist framework. The first part comprises chapters looking at sociopolitical conflicts across specific geographic contexts across the US, Europe and Latin America. The second half of the book unpacks sociocultural conflicts, those not defined by physical borders but shaped by ideological differences on core values, such as on religion, gender and the environment.
