Na základě jazykového rozboru a popisu textů a fragmentů, nalezených z valné části v našich knihovnách, přináší autor ve čtyřech samostatných kapitolách nové poznatky na poli pozdní středověké německé literatury. První kapitola obsahuje text dvou knih osudu, olomoucké a heidelberské, jejichž jazykový rozbor ukazuje, že pravzor obou bavorsky psaných textů spadá do jazykovyého území severozápadní němčiny. V druhé kapitole se prvně objevují dvaněmecké texty, jeden ve verších, druhý v próze spolu se čtyřmi středonizozemskými legendami v próze a jednou staročeskou verzí v souvislosti s latinskou prozaickou legendou. Třetí obsahuje pražský fragment dosud neznáméhostředonizozemského křižáckého románu, čtvrtá pak pražský fragment středofranckého veršovaného převodu středonizozemského Percevala, který dokazuje existenci artušovské látky v Porýní
