Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2024 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Hochschulwesen, Note: 1,7, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Institut für Erziehungswissenschaften), Veranstaltung: Hochschulbildung und soziale Ungleichheit, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit widme ich mich der Frage, welche klassen- und geschlechtsspezifischen Reproduktionsmechanismen zur Ungleichheit an deutschen Hochschulen beitragen und versuche herauszufinden, an welchen Stellen Überschneidungen der Kategorien auftauchen. Die Untersuchung und Analyse sozialer Zusammenhänge und miteinander verknüpfter Strukturen, welche zu sozialer Ungleichheit beitragen, birgt das Potenzial, spezifische und bisher vernachlässigte Wirkweisen zu erkennen und damit die Möglichkeit, das Bildungssystem fairer zu gestalten. Im Jahr 2024, in dem die deutschen Hochschulen rein rechtlich jedem Geschlecht und jeder Klasse offenstehen und Frauen mehr als die Hälfte der Studienanfänger ausmachen, mag mancher zu der Annahme verleitet werden, dass Bildungsgerechtigkeit im Sinne der Geschlechter bereits hergestellt sei. Dagegen ist jedoch einzuwenden, dass dies nichts über hochschulinterne Strukturen, welche geschlechtsbezogene Ungleichheiten aufrechterhalten, aussagt. Zudem zeigt ein Blick in die Geschichte, dass der gleichberechtigte Zugang zur Hochschule für Frauen wie Arbeiterkinder lange Zeit unerreichbar war. Es liegt nur nahe, dass gewisse Mechanismen auf diesen alten Strukturen aufbauen und bis heute nachwirken. Denn es ist bekannt, dass das Bildungssystem in Deutschland als besonders ungerecht gilt: "Sozialer Aufstieg ist in Deutschland schwerer als in anderen europäischen Ländern". Soziale Ungleichheit im Sinne der Bildungsgerechtigkeit (auch wenn beide Begriffe sich nicht ohne weiteres universal definieren lassen), spielt nicht nur in der Erziehungswissenschaft eine wesentliche Rolle, sondern ist, so behaupte ich, gesamtgesellschaftlich relevant. Auf politischer Ebene ist es zudem notwendig, die Mechanismen, welche ggf. zu sozialer Ungleichheit führen, erkennen, benennen und nachvollziehen zu können, um mit geeigneten Maßnahmen zu einem Wandel dieser Verhältnisse beizutragen. Ein Vergleich von Forschungsergebnissen Bourdieus mit Befunden aktueller Bildungsforschung zeige, dass trotz eines allgemeinen Bildungsaufstiegs immer noch ein enger Zusammenhang zwischen sozialer Herkunft und Bildungserfolg existiert, welcher bereits von Bourdieu konstatiert wurde. Bourdieu nimmt neben der Perspektive des Feldes auch die Perspektive der sozialen Akteure in seiner Untersuchung der sozialen Welt in den Blick. Sein Konzept eignet sich in besonderer Weise dazu, die Relationen zwischen Akteuren, Institutionen und Mechanismen auszumachen.

What is a 'symbolic revolution'? What happens when a symbolic revolutions occurs, how can it succeed and prevail and why is it so difficult to understand?
