Time management remains a huge challenge for most people. This book shares the habits and processes used by top leaders worldwide to minimize distractions and maximize accomplishments. In researching more than 1,260 managers and executives from more than 108 different organizations, Steve and Rob Shallenberger discovered that 68 percent of them feel like their number one challenge is time management, yet 80 percent don't have a clear process for how to prioritize their time. Drawing on their forty years of leadership research, this book offers three powerful habits that the top 10 percent of leaders use to Do What Matters Most. These three high performance habits are developing a written personal vision, identifying and setting Roles and Goals, and consistently doing Pre-week Planning. And Steve and Rob make an audacious promise: these three habits can increase anyone's productivity by at least 30 to 50 percent. For organizations, this means higher profits, happier employees, and increased innovation. For individuals, it means you'll find hours in your week that you didn't know were there—imagine what you could do! On What Matters written by Derek Parfit and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-02-09 with Philosophy categories.

Derek Parfit presents the third volume of On What Matters, his landmark work of moral philosophy. Parfit develops further his influential treatment of reasons, normativity, the meaning of moral discourse, and the status of morality. He engages with his critics, and shows the way to resolution of their differences. This volume is partly about what it is for things to matter, in the sense that we all have reasons to care about these things. Much of the book discusses three of the main kinds of meta-ethical theory: Normative Naturalism, Quasi-Realist Expressivism, and Non-Metaphysical Non-Naturalism, which Derek Parfit now calls Non-Realist Cognitivism. This third theory claims that, if we use the word 'reality' in an ontologically weighty sense, irreducibly normative truths have no mysterious or incredible ontological implications. If instead we use 'reality' in a wide sense, according to which all truths are truths about reality, this theory claims that some non-empirically discoverable truths-such as logical, mathematical, modal, and some normative truths-raise no difficult ontological questions. Parfit discusses these theories partly by commenting on the views of some of the contributors to Peter Singer's collection Does Anything Really Matter? Parfit on Objectivity. Though Peter Railton is a Naturalist, he has widened his view by accepting some further claims, and he has suggested that this wider version of Naturalism could be combined with Non-Realist Cognitivism. Parfit argues that Railton is right, since these theories no longer deeply disagree. Though Allan Gibbard is a Quasi-Realist Expressivist, he has suggested that the best version of his view could be combined with Non-Realist Cognitivism. Parfit argues that Gibbard is right, since Gibbard and he now accept the other's main meta-ethical claim. It is rare for three such different philosophical theories to be able to be widened in ways that resolve their deepest disagreements. This happy convergence supports the view that these meta-ethical theories are true. Parfit also discusses the views of several other philosophers, and some other meta-ethical and normative questions.

“Getting it Right@60” - A Common Man’s Perspective There are a lot of books available on life after retirement but I wanted to write one from the perspective of a common man. This is a book for every Common Man who is already retired or retiring. Common Man is conceived as one from the middle class, a person who has spent all this time in doing his job diligently and honestly but in this process could not pursue his hobbies. He could as well not nurture well his family and personal relationships, despite a strong inclination and all resources at his disposal. While definition of Hobby is so wide, encompassing anything and everything, it is at the same time, difficult to identify one’s hobby at-least amongst middle class Indians, for giving it its due after he is retiring. At this stage of life, most of them are unaware about the areas which give them passion and enchantment. This book will help readers from middle class society, address this dilemma. An attempt has also been made to address issues of various fears in the mind of retiring persons as regards their health, finances, uncaring children, unsettled children, sexlessness, loneliness etc. Once retired, with all the time in the world, and limited responsibilities, sometimes, we find ourselves lost in search of purpose. This book will address this aspect of dilemma also. It is endeavoured that each page of this book connects well with senior citizens and interests them. I would not claim that my readers will find some startling revelations about happy retired life from this short book, but I am confident that once a reader reads this, he will be better equipped to lead a more fulfilling retired life. I hope my honest attempt will provide readers with inspiration and zeal to re-prioritise their journey of life, and take retirement as a chosen milestone to start attending to one’s non lucrative but highly satisfying pursuits.

Career or motherhood? Do you have to sacrifice one to be truly successful in the other? And if you're trying to do both, will you have to compromise your career path or your child's needs? With professional demands increasingly impinging on personal time, is "having it all" even realistic, or is it just plain fantasy? Now leading Stanford University psychologist Dr. Laraine Zappert, who specializes in the issues of women and work, draws upon her twenty years of clinical and research experience and a landmark study to answer these questions and create a road map of innovative solutions. Dr. Zappert surveyed more than three hundred women who have graduated from Stanford's Graduate School of Business, and has incorporated case studies from hundreds of women professionals in each chapter. Her findings address such common concerns as: Do I really have to choose between career and family? How do I handle the stresses of my job and the demands of parenting? How do children affect my career, and when is the best time to have them? How do I keep my relationships healthy? Who will care for my children when I'm not available? Coming from many different occupational backgrounds, the subjects of Dr. Zappert's study show us that although we so often think that everyone else is doing it better and having an easier time of it, that is hardly ever the case. Sometimes "good enough" has to do. And whereas the stresses may be the same for all working women, the solutions rarely are. Let the insights, advice, and strategies found in Getting It Right help you make smarter, more informed decisions for creating a satisfying and fulfilling lifestyle on every level.
