Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Sport - Sportsoziologie, Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser empirischen Arbeit soll geklärt werden, wie die Theorie der Gewaltprävention in der Praxis am Beispiel von Mitternachtssport aussieht. Hierzu werden in 2. (ff.) erst einmal verschiedene theoretische Methoden und Ansätze der Gewaltprävention vorgestellt. Dieser erste Theorieteil beschäftigt sich ausschließlich mit den Methoden von Pilz, Rolinski, Keupp, der Evangelischen Kirchen in Deutschland (EKD) und dem Verein für Ehe- und Familienberatung (VEF). Die Arbeit wird es mit dem Bereich der Gewaltprävention durch Sport bei Jugendlichen belassen. Im zweiten Theorieteil wird in das Thema Mitternachtssport eingeführt. Die Anforderungen an den präventiven Mitternachtssport nach Kösterke und Stöckle werden untersucht, sowie Kurz` Theorie welcher Sport eigentlich präventiv wirkt. Die Frage „Wie sieht die Theorie in der Praxis aus?“ soll im empirischen Teil dieser Arbeit anhand einer durchgeführten Befragung von 40 Studenten ausreichend geklärt und anschließend bewertend diskutiert werden. Aus dieser Fragestellung leiten sich außerdem die zu beantwortenden Fragen „Welcher Sport wird gefordert?“, „Welche Anforderungen werden gestellt?“, „Besteht überhaupt das Interesse an Teilnahme am Mitternachtssport? Was sind die Gründe für Zustimmung oder Ablehnung?“. Nach Dr. Gunter A. Pilz, Professor an der Universität Hannover, ist Gewaltprävention die Vermeidung, Entstehung und Verringerung von Gewalt durch sportbezogene Maßnahmen. Im Vordergrund steht die Entwicklung positiver Lebenskonzepte und deren Förderung, die Verbesserung der Handlungskompetenz des einzelnen Jugendlichen, die Nutzung eigener Ressourcen, die Entwicklung von sozialer Verantwortung und Kritikfähigkeit, sowie die Förderung der Entscheidungsfähigkeit und Eigenverantwortlichkeit. Als Ziel sieht PILZ „das Erreichen von Konfliktfähigkeit und den Aufbau eines positiven Selbstwertgefühls und Selbstbewusstseins von Mädchen und Jungen“.

The Politics of Evidence Based Policymaking identifies how to work with policymakers to maximize the use of scientific evidence. Policymakers cannot consider all evidence relevant to policy problems. They use two shortcuts: ‘rational’ ways to gather enough evidence, and ‘irrational’ decision-making, drawing on emotions, beliefs, and habits. Most scientific studies focus on the former. They identify uncertainty when policymakers have incomplete evidence, and try to solve it by improving the supply of information. They do not respond to ambiguity, or the potential for policymakers to understand problems in very different ways. A good strategy requires advocates to be persuasive: forming coalitions with like-minded actors, and accompanying evidence with simple stories to exploit the emotional or ideological biases of policymakers.
