It was a palace of the Kings of France; the creation of the Sun King, Louis XIV. The marvel of all Europe it soon became a gilded cage for the monarchs and the courtiers who lived there. The saga of Versailles is filled with intrigue, scandal, glory, and tragedy. It is here that the nobility of France manipulated and poisoned their way to the top. Marriages, deaths, mistresses, secret passageways, and betrayal---it all added up to the French Revolution that cost Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette their heads. Yet it is also within these opulent walls that we find the dreams of those who conquered Europe through military campaigns or outsmarting their own bloodline. No one was safe. No one was exempt from the King's spies who secretly opened letters and reported on every move within the palace and grounds. Join me as we look behind the scenes at the lives of the French Kings, their wives, their mistresses, and blood relations as they built, tore down, and rebuilt a name that became synonymous with jaw-dropping opulence, power, wealth, fashion, and scandal. Come with me inside the golden gates of Versailles. Packed with photographs, floor plans, and maps, this is a comprehensive look at the palace's history. Also included is the documented hauntings at the palace, including the bestselling account of two women academics who visited the Petit Trianon grounds in 1901 and interacted with the ghost of Marie Antoinette and others of her time period. It is a story that has fascinated the world for decades. Other reports of paranormal activity at the palace are also included. Rebecca F. Pittman is a bestselling author of 14 titles. Her History and Haunting Of series is regularly featured on international TV, radio, and podcast shows. She researches the most-haunted venues in the world, staying in their shadowed bedrooms and interviewing the owners and staff. Her book The History and Haunting of Lizzie Borden spotlights five new pieces of evidence Ms. Pittman found in the famous murder case of 1892. A companion rummy-style card game, The Lizzie Borden Paranormal Card Game, featuring evidence, suspects, alibis and a paranormal twist, is available for sale on her website. She makes her home in Colorado.

What happens when a medium goes on vacation? Can a medium simply switch off their ability at will? Well...not exactly. Rob Gutro is a medium/author/paranormal investigator and a scientist who has written 4 books about his encounters with human and animal ghosts and spirits. In this book, you will read about his experiences on two separate trips to the United Kingdom. England's rich history and many epic battles have caused an over-abundance of residual emotional energy. Everywhere he traveled, he had a paranormal experience. He explored royal palaces and spent the night in haunted castles. He encountered the ghosts of historical figures including a queen, a prince, and a nobleman; and several ghosts even shared their pain of death experience with him. On one occasion, the doppelganger of a loved one provided directions when he became lost while driving in the countryside due to a malfunctioning GPS. But not all of his encounters were of the human variety: there was also a very special visit from a canine ghost. This book is intended to be more than just a collection of personal ghost stories. In addition to relating my ghostly encounters, he has also included a short narrative history of the places where the experiences occurred. After all, knowing the history of a place is key to understanding why a ghost has decided to stay behind. So, join Rob as he relates his encounters with the ghosts of England. Rob has written 4 other books about the paranormal, two about people (Ghosts and Spirits and Lessons Learned From Talking to the Dead) and 2 about pets (Pets and the Afterlife and Pets and the Afterlife 2). The books are available in paperback and e-book on Amazon.com.

Professor Carlton Jones, of Celtic Affairs at the Southeastern University in Atlanta, is taking a sabbatical leave to study castles in Wales. He is an expert on Welsh castles and, in particular, wants to study the Castle of the Scarlet Ghost, little known today, but dating back to King Henry IV of England. He arrives at a bed and breakfast house, which adjoins the ruins of the old castle. Anxious to get started, though it is late in the afternoon and stormy weather, he starts up the hill towards the castle. A blast of lightning and a broken tree bough knocks him to the ground, unconscious. He awakens in a strange mansion in the Fourteenth Century attended by a beautiful girl. The mansion belongs to the wealthy and powerful master, Owain Glyndwr, who becomes the greatest hero of Wales. Although Glyndwr is, at first, skeptical of the professor's story, they soon become good friends. Glyndwr organizes a resistance to the cruel English masters, and Jones, his assistant, does not reveal what history will produce. Eventually everything is lost, and in the last chapter, the castle gains its name. Along the way, Glyndwr rescues Lady Margaret from the Tower of London. Many battles are fought, won and lost, and Professor Jones and the beautiful Siriz fall in love. Although Glyndwr is Wales' greatest hero, little is known of his life. I have researched his history and visited Wales twice. There is an article on Owain Glyndwr in the 2001 April/May issue of British Heritage. It indicates the interest that the public has in Owain Glyndwr.
