Tra una divagazione e un foglietto d'album, sul filo dei ricordi e con la sua prosa pungente, domestica, intrisa di quella luce avara ed umiliata che fa diventare immobili, fissandoli per sempre, i paesaggi e gli oggetti di ogni giorno - quella luce che solo lo sguardo di un pittore di nature morte può cogliere - Giuseppe Raimondi è riuscito ad allestire sul proscenio della sua giovinezza, ripercorrendo il proprio apprendistato lettterario tra Dada e "La Ronda", e forse senza nemmeno volerlo, anche una perfetta rappresentazione storica. Su tutti più alta la persona di un sodale, Giorgio Morandi: il pittore attaccato alla sua casa, alla sua finestra sull'orto, alla sua città, Bologna, la vera protagonista di questo libro.
