Volume 10 Tome I Kierkegaard S Influence On Theology written by Jon Stewart and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-12-05 with Religion categories.

Kierkegaard has always enjoyed a rich reception in the fields of theology and religious studies. This reception might seem obvious given that he is one of the most important Christian writers of the nineteenth century, but Kierkegaard was by no means a straightforward theologian in any traditional sense. He had no enduring interest in some of the main fields of theology such as church history or biblical studies, and he was strikingly silent on many key Christian dogmas. Moreover, he harbored a degree of animosity towards the university theologians and churchmen of his own day. Despite this, he has been a source of inspiration for numerous religious writers from different denominations and traditions. Tome I is dedicated to the reception of Kierkegaard among German Protestant theologians and religious thinkers. The writings of some of these figures turned out to be instrumental for Kierkegaard's breakthrough internationally shortly after the turn of the twentieth century. Leading figures of the movement of 'dialectical theology' such as Karl Barth, Emil Brunner, Paul Tillich and Rudolf Bultmann spawned a steadily growing awareness of and interest in Kierkegaard's thought among generations of German theology students. Emanuel Hirsch was greatly influenced by Kierkegaard and proved instrumental in disseminating his thought by producing the first complete German edition of Kierkegaard's published works. Both Barth and Hirsch established unique ways of reading and appropriating Kierkegaard, which to a certain degree determined the direction and course of Kierkegaard studies right up to our own times.

Wort Und Glaube written by Gerhard Ebeling and has been published by Mohr Siebeck this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1969 with Religion categories.

English summary: This new collection of articles - the first appeared in 1967 in the third edition - retains the same title, which reflects exactly the intention of the author: to do justice to the encounter of the Christian faith with modern times through a type of thought which preserves the legacy of the Reformation.

Modern Faith And Thought written by Helmut Thielicke and has been published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1990-11 with Religion categories.

Thielicke here studies the themes of doubt and appropriation in modern Protestant thought. A leading advocate of dialectical theology, Thielicke examines the work of the great German Protestant religious philosophers from Lessing and Schliermacher through Barth and Tillich, probing these theologians' understanding of their context and how this tradition can impact our own engagement with our times. Clear, finely nuanced, historically and philosophically mature, this is a vital reflection on the history of theology and in systematic theology.

International Law And Religion written by Martti Koskenniemi and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-08-11 with Law categories.

This books maps out the territory of international law and religion challenging received traditions in fundamental aspects. On the one hand, the connection of international law and religion has been little explored. On the other, most of current research on international legal thought presents international law as the very victory of secularization. By questioning that narrative of secularization this book approaches these traditions from a new perspective. From the Middle Ages' early conceptualizations of rights and law to contemporary political theory, the chapters bring to life debates concerning the interaction of the meaning of the legal and the sacred. The contributors approach their chapters from an array of different backgrounds and perspectives but with the common objective of investigating the mutually shaping relationship of religion and law. The collaborative endeavour that this volume offers makes available substantial knowledge on the question of international law and religion.
