China S City Cluster Development In The Race To Carbon Neutrality written by Ali Cheshmehzangi and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-12-03 with Science categories.
The scope of this book is to map China’s city clusters and their individual directions for the national-level strategies in line with the 2060 carbon neutrality plan. Since China announced the carbon neutrality plan in autumn 2020, no study has looked at the role of city clusters in achieving this long-term plan. Hence, this study is believed to be the first attempt to explore this important topic from the city cluster perspective. It explores the challenges, opportunities, and directions of all 19 city clusters, allowing readers to have a clear picture of China’s historical and ongoing progress, as well as the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. In a short time, China’s city clusters have helped boost regional economic development, infrastructure development, trade and business, and better urban–rural integration. With enhanced coordination of connection and transport networks in and between the city clusters, we see a growing number of initiatives beyond just the initial economic strategies. The dual approach of top-down policies and infrastructure systems and bottom-up governance and investments has helped China consider urban–rural development strategies and regional sustainable development. These factors are essential to be explored from the city cluster perspective and in line with China’s sustainable development and carbon neutrality directions. Hence, the book covers these points holistically, ensuring that regional planning and development are favored in the face of uneven urbanization trends. We anticipate this book to be a valuable resource for local governments and authorities, urban planners and practitioners, developers, and urban researchers. While the focus is on China’s city clusters, we believe there are similar examples elsewhere. Hence, lessons learnt from this book could apply to other countries, regions, and subregions. Lastly, the book aims to put regional sustainable development at the heart of longer-term strategies and plans, such as the case of China’s carbon neutrality plan.

The globe is warming and while no one knows what will happen as a result, it is clear that slowing the process is a necessary goal. Other studies have considered 'warming fates', this one brings sophisticated computer modeling to bear on ways of minimizing the risks. Fossil carbon emissions, other trace gases and releases from other sources are all taken into account, and the authors demonstrate the global need to produce a budget for cumulative releases between now and the year 2100. They also demonstrate the need to return to a rate of forest carbon storage equal to that of the mid-1980s. These budgets look at issues of international equity and the ways of moving to a binding agreement. The price of failure to control GHG emissions may be uncertain, but it will be more than anyone can afford. Political will lies at the root of successful climate stabilization and major capital and technology transfers to Third World countries will be needed if there is to be any chance of success. This book provides an agenda for advance.A book [which] throws into stark relief the mountain still to be climbed before the world community can agree on a credible programme to tackle global warming. In Nursing in an Integrated Digital World that Supports People, Systems, and the Planet, the leading-edge innovators in digital health applications, global thought leaders, and multinational, cooperative research initiatives are woven together against the backdrop of health equity and policy-setting bodies, such as the United Nations and the World Health Organization. As the authors prepared this book, the world is struggling with the core issues of access to care, access to needed medical equipment and supplies, and access to vaccines. This access theme is reflected throughout the policy and world health chapters with an emphasis on how this COVID-19 pandemic is exposing the fissures, divides, unfairness, and unpreparedness that are in play across our globe. Sustainability and global health policy are linked to the new digital technologies in the chapters that illustrate healthcare delivery modalities that nurse innovators are developing, leading, and using to deliver care to hard-to-reach populations for better population health. A trio of chapters focus on the underlying need for standards to underlie nursing care in order to capture the data needed to enable new science and knowledge discoveries. The authors give particular attention to the cautions, potential for harm, and biases that the artificial intelligence technologies of algorithms and machine learning pose in healthcare. Additionally, they have tapped legal experts to review the legal statues, government regulations, and civil rights law in place for patients’ rights, privacy, and confidentiality, and consents for the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. The book closes with a chapter written by the editors that envisions the near future—the impact that the new digital technologies will have on how care is delivered, expanding care settings into community and home, virtual monitoring, and patient generated data, as well as the numerous ways that nurses’ roles and technology skill sets must increase to support the global goals of equal access to healthcare. Nursing and Informatics for the 21st Century – Embracing a Digital World, 3rd Edition is comprised of four books which can be purchased individually: Book 1: Realizing Digital Health – Bold Challenges and Opportunities for Nursing Book 2: Nursing Education and Digital Health Strategies Book 3: Innovation, Technology, and Applied Informatics for Nurses Book 4: Nursing in an Integrated Digital World that Supports People, Systems, and the Planet

Is my carefree dog better off than I am? Will my money improve welfare more if I spend it helping people or chickens? If we want to compare welfare across species, we first need to explore whether welfare subjects of different species have the same or a different capacity for welfare. Tatjana Visak argues that they do.
