Giorgio De Michelis allarga il quadro e colloca il tema nel rapporto fra tecnologia e lavoro nel quadro della rivoluzione digitale, la terza tra le rivoluzioni antropologiche dopo scrittura e stampa. Il suo testo vede la questione digitale/lavoro come parte del cambiamento che la rivoluzione digitale sta provocando sulle relazioni degli esseri umani con la conoscenza e quindi fra loro. La sua proposta è centrata sulla libera partecipazione delle persone nello sviluppo dei sistemi tecnologici. I due capitoli propongono diversi livelli di interventi di cambiamento ma hanno un’ispirazione comune. Tra i due autori da tempo va avanti una discussione che ha aiutato non poco il loro sviluppo. Presentando insieme i due contributi, speriamo che la ricchezza di questa discussione coinvolga i lettori rendendo loro accessibili sia le proposte e che le tematiche ancora aperte che li accompagnano.

A stimulating, eclectic accountof new media that finds its origins in old media, particularly the cinema. In this book Lev Manovich offers the first systematic and rigorous theory of new media. He places new media within the histories of visual and media cultures of the last few centuries. he dialogue, as “the talking of the soul with itself” that constitutes the act of thinking (Plato), has been selected as the ideal form through which to vividly and accurately convey the thinking of a number of protagonists of Italian modern architecture. Knowledge remains a latent legacy of the soul until a given stimulus reawakens its memory: architecture, more than sophia (wisdom), becomes philo-sophia, i.e. love of knowledge. A reading of the architectural phenomenon aimed at faithfully bringing out its complexity cannot help but involve the stories directly told by the protagonists, and the micro-stories of individual episodes, in order to explore the relationship that exists between the poetic and the technical-scientific spheres, underlining their complementary and conflictual nature.
