Mothering is messy. Our joy and hope in raising children doesn’t change the reality that being a mom can be frustrating, stressful, and tiring. But just as God is using us to shape our children, God is using our children and motherhood to shape us. In The Better Mom, author Ruth Schwenk, herself a mother of four children, encourages us with the good news that there is more to being a mom than the extremes of striving for perfection or simply embracing the mess. We don’t need to settle for surviving our kids’ childhood. We can grow through it. With refreshing and heartfelt honesty Ruth emboldens moms to: Find freedom and walk confidently in purpose Create a God-honoring home environment Overcome unhealthy and destructive emotions such as anger, anxiety, and more Avoid glorifying the mess of mom-ing or idolizing perfection Cultivate life-giving friendships At the heart of The Better Mom is the message that Jesus calls us to live not a weary life, but a worthy life. We don’t have to settle for either being apathetic or struggling to be perfect. Both visions of motherhood go too far. Ruth offers a better option. She says, “It’s okay to come as we are, but what we’re called to do and be is far too important to stay there! The way to becoming a better mom starts not with what we are doing, but with who God is inviting us to become."

Seeing And Savouring Jesus Christ written by JOHN PIPER and has been published by Inter-Varsity Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-05-21 with Religion categories.

Who is Jesus Christ? You've never met Him in person, and you don't know anyone who has. But there is a way to know who he is. How? Jesus Christ - the divine Person revealed in the Bible - has a unique excellence and a spiritual beauty that speaks directly to our souls and says, "Yes, this is truth." It's like seeing the sun and knowing that it is light, or tasting honey and knowing that it is sweet. The depth and complexity of Jesus shatter our simple mental frameworks. He baffled proud scribes with his wisdom but was understood and loved by children. He calmed a raging storm with a word but would not get himself down from the cross. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. Keep your eyes open, and fill them with the portrait of Jesus in God's Word. Jesus said, "If anyone's will is to do God's will, He will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority." Ask God for the grace to do His will, and you will see the truth of His Son. John Piper has written this book in the hope that all will see Jesus for who he really is and will come to enjoy him above all else.

Stumbling In Darkness written by Laura Dawn and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-12 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

The title: "Stumbling in Darkness ~ Separated from God (A journey to the Light) ...is a life summarized. May this book inspire you to seek the LORD God, read His Word the Holy Bible, and get to know Him as He reveals Himself to you through the Spirit in Jesus Christ. It is God's will for all of us to know Him and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. In both Testaments God says, I will be their God and they will be My children. (Lev 26:12) - (Rev 21:7) this statement is repeated many times. God desires to have a relationship with each one of us. He's long suffering patiently waiting for us to come to Him. However, He has a set year, month, day and time when the waiting ends. Take an honest look at yourself and ask do you know the love of God? Do you know Jesus Christ personally? Is your name written in The Book of Life? Are you a slave to addictions, lost in sinful desires? Will you be welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven? Do you put everyone and everything before and above God? We are living in what Scripture calls "the last days" the end of life as we know it. Though it is a world without end as we know it is becoming a memory. Prompted by the Holy Spirit (the true author of the book), Laura is God's tool used by His Spirit, experience, faith, and grace; to help those who don't know the LORD, who misunderstand His will, or who think its too late for them. By admitting her faults, low self-esteem, wrong mind-set, poor choices...a sinful life; God's power and desire to save and change the 'least worthy' of His forgiveness reveals His tenderhearted mercy, patience, and love hence, He is worthy of all praise and glory! Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts against Him. (Heb 3:7-8) AMP Before I received the Spirit of Truth, I tried to fill a void only God fills. As His creation, we have a special place for His touch alone. Until we know this and submit our will to His, we look for anything to fill the emptiness He overfills with love. When I received the Holy Spirit I was sealed' as God's, transformed into a new person. (Eph 4:23, 30) I have holiness dwelling in me God's power. The same power the apostles had when they shared the gospel without fear even unto death. Who-so-ever receives Jesus in their heart (not the mind), receives the Spirit unexpectedly. (Jn 3:3-8) He changes you into the image of Christ (Gen 1:26), there's no doubt the promise of eternal life is true. You know you'll rise to live in God's kingdom forever! The LORD is so much more than we could ever imagine. The Living God He is whatever those who love Him need Him to be. He wants nothing more than this: Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (Jam 4:8) The many facets of God are lovely, and the wrath read in the Old Testament is not in Christ in the New Testament; though He repeatedly warned all would be judged. Many are blind to God's pain for not believing in His Son-Jesus. (Jn 10:30) Despite the dramatic display of His anger in both testaments; His love through His Spirit given to the prophets, Jesus, and the apostles all warn of the Day of the Lord' God never changes. (Heb 13:8) He calls Himself a Consuming Fire (Deut 4:24) Jealous God. (Ex 20:5) He has appointed a Day of Judgment for every spoken word, thought and deed in secret or open; how we treated our body (the temple for His Spirit), and if His Commandments were kept. (Jer 17:10) (2 Cor 5:10) Many toss around the Name of God as if common, but they're cursing themselves as they break the 3rd Commandment: You shall NOT take the Name of the LORD your God in Vein, for The LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His Name in vein. (Ex 20:7) Not making God first in your life breaks His most important law: The 1st Commandment: You shall love The LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, all your mind. (Deut 6:5) (Lk 10:27) God must be first above all else, even family. He blesses us after He is made first

God Dwells Among Us written by G. K. Beale and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015 with Religion categories.

The writers and chief actors of the Old Testament expressed a deep longing for the presence of God. This longing is symbolized through history in the Garden of Eden, the ark of the covenant and the tabernacle that housed it, the temple, and the ruins of the temple. In response to this longing, God shares his ultimate mission, in which his people play a part: the expansion of Eden - the temple of God's presence - to all peoples throughout the earth. The temple has always been a source of rich scholarship and theological reflection - but what does it mean for the church's ongoing mission in the world? Beale and Kim build a bridge from the world of biblical theology to our modern-day life. They help us to see clearly that the themes of Eden, the temple, God's glorious presence, new creation, and the mission of the church are ultimately facets of the same reality. Hence, from Eden to the New Jerusalem, God's people are his temple on the earth, the first-fruits of the new creation. God has always desired to dwell among us; now the church needs to follow its calling to extend the borders of God's kingdom and take his presence to the ends of the earth.

Dwelling In The Household Of God written by Mary L. Coloe and has been published by Liturgical Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-27 with Religion categories.

In her remarkable first book, God Dwells With Us: Temple Symbolism in the Fourth Gospel, Mary L. Coloe, P.B.V.M., explored the profound insight of John's Gospel expressed in Jesus ' invitation to his disciples: Make your home in me, as I make mine in you (John 15:4). For the gospel's author and audience, the dwelling of God among humans was, above al, the Jerusalem Temple. The gospel traces how 'after the trauma of the destruction of the Temple 'the Johannine community came to expand and deepen its knowledge of God's dwelling among humans, finding it now in the person of Jesus and in the community of believers. Dwelling in the Household of God moves us from seeing God's dwelling place as the Temple to seeing God's dwelling place within the community of believers. The starting point now is an image in John 14:2: my Father's house, which is given its Old Testament meaning of my father's household. Our awareness thus moves, like that of the first Christians, from understanding My father's house as the Temple (John 2:16) to My Father's Household as a community of believers drawn into Jesus ' own divine filiation. Coloe invites us to re-read the gospel from the post-Easter perspective of those who have become brothers and sisters of Jesus and living Temples of God's presence. What emerges is nothing less than a profound mysticism of the mutual indwelling of God and believers. Mary Coloe, PBVM, DTh, holds a joint teaching position at the Australian Catholic University and St Paul's Seminary, Brisbane. Her publications include numerous articles and God Dwells With Us: Temple Symbolism in the Fourth Gospel (Liturgical Press, 2001).

"Besides Jesus, no one has kept me from despair, or taken me deeper into the mysteries of the gospel, than the apostle Paul." —John Piper No one has had a greater impact on the world for eternal good than the apostle Paul—except Jesus himself. For John Piper, this impact is very personal. He does not just admire and trust Paul. He loves him. Piper gives us thirty glimpses into why his heart and mind respond this way. Can a Christian-killer really endure 195 lashes from a heart of love? Can a mystic who thinks he was caught up into heaven be a model of lucid rationality? Can an ethnocentric Jew write the most beautiful call to reconciliation? Can a person who lives with the unceasing anguish of empathy be always rejoicing? Can a man's description of the horrors of human sin be exceeded by his delight in human splendor? Can a man with a backbone of steel be as tender as a nursing mother? If we know this man—if we see what Piper sees—we too will love him. Paul's testimony is a matter of life and death. Piper invites you into his relationship with Paul in the hope that you will know life, forever.
