Migraties en de multiculturen die daar rechtstreeks uit voortvloeien, zijn door de hele beschavingsgeschiedenis eerder regel dan uitzondering. In elk rijk werd er gemengd en gemixt, geëmigreerd en geïmmigreerd, meestal met véél bloed, zweet en tranen. Toch heeft het ontzettend lang geduurd alvorens de wetten en mores die stelden wat mocht en niet mocht kritisch in vraag werden gesteld. De mensenrechten bijvoorbeeld, een vrij recente humane uitvinding, wordenbegrijpelijkerwijs met alle kracht verdedigd en het minste euvel in dat verband wordt als een onmiddellijk te verwijderen smet gezien. De dwangmatigheid echter waarmee dat geschiedde en de naïviteit die daarbij tentoongespreid werd, leverden een hysterische politieke correctheid op, die, na het failliet van het communisme (marxisme), de behoefte aan een utopie bleef invullen via de nieuwe ideologie van een overspannen multiculturalistische idylle. Pas na 9/11 werd dan toch voorzichtig plaats ingeruimd voor een kritiek op het naïeve en hyperkinetische multiculturalisme en werd gepleit voor de terugkeer van wat gezond verstand. Dit boek gaat in op de progressivistische gedachteloosheid van de multiculturalistische elite. Het houdt tegelijk, onder meer geïnspireerd door intellectuelen uit de moslimwereld, een kritisch pleidooi voor een bedachtzamer omgang met de multicultuur.

Nieuw Rechtse groepen slagen erin jongeren te rekruteren, op te leiden, te mobiliseren en te activeren. Ze verschillen daarin niet veel van terroristische groeperingen. Ze verspreiden een boodschap van ongelijkheid, racisme, negationisme en discriminatie. Ze gebruiken gretig desinformatie over migranten, vluchtelingen en andere kwetsbare groepen. Onveiligheidsgevoelens, angst, gebrekkige openbare informatie en simplistische verklaringen vormen hiervoor een vruchtbare voedingsbodem. Als influencers trachten ze aanhoudend de geesten te vergiftigen met propaganda en antidemocratisch gedachtegoed. Dit boek noemt ze onomwonden bij hun naam: haatzaaiers. Extreemrechts bezet intussen, ook op verdoken wijze, politiek democratische posities. Deze infiltratie gebeurt vooral in partijen die de Vlaamse identiteit onderstrepen. Pijnlijk confronterend komt aan het licht hoe extreemrechts – vaak verborgen in interne chatrooms – subversief blijft invreten op de democratie. Een open debat moet hier wijken voor intimidatie, wat aanleiding kan geven tot geweld. De auteur beschrijft het ontstaan en de betekenis van Nieuw Rechts en de wijze waarop dit fenomeen in Vlaanderen gehoor vindt. Hij schetst de opkomst van ‘identitaire bewegingen’ in het buitenland en het Vlaams-nationalistisch vernis dat er op eigen bodem overheen wordt gelegd. Hij vergelijkt bewegingen als ‘Schild en Vrienden’ met sekten die gelijkwaardigheid afwijzen en bewust polariseren en provoceren met radicale standpunten, in de hoop de publieke opinie van hun boodschap te overtuigen.

Understanding human behavior is generally a difficult task because of the complexity of the individual (or the group of individuals) that is subjected to intertwined factors, forces, values, and other motivational resources that are influencing behavior. A qualitative model of the individual was developed to account for the factors and forces exerted on the individual and the individual’s goals. Personal behavior was further modeled by a vector with a magnitude and a direction. The magnitude depends on factors and forces that may be unleveraged or leveraged. The direction of the behavior vector represents the goals of the individual. The behavior model was extended to a group of individuals by considering a group vector. The role of past experience and resources supporting and influencing the indivual and the group were identified and discussed. Decision processes for the individual and the group were developed since it is through decisions that behavior is developed and adopted. The model also includes immutable factors to guide the individual toward a task-oriented or relationship-oriented human behavior. An error process was also developed to identify and correct errors so that the decisions taken are accurate, complete, and uptodate. Several illustrative applications of the human behavior model are presented and discussed. These applications relate to the individual and the group with specific goals and in particular situations.
