You don’t have to understand God to trust him. “Just trust me.” Those are the words we often hear in movies just before something bad happens. And yet, we are told to trust God. In a culture where we tend to take control of our own lives, trusting God has become a religious platitude rather than a life-changing attitude. We say it, but do we really mean it? And what does trusting God really look like? Sharon, Mary, and Gwen—the Girlfriends in God ministry team—have been there. They’ve traveled the tough roads of life to discover the peace and power that comes from grabbing the hand of God and trusting his plan. The life stories they share bring laughter and sometimes tears, but always spiritual growth. Each of the 12-week sections concludes with a Bible study guide and journal page, inviting you to lock arms with Sharon, Mary, and Gwen and share with other women in a small group setting or to use individually in your own quiet time.

From the acclaimed author of How to Be Lost comes a gorgeous new novel about love, memory, and motherhood. Nadine Morgan travels the world as a journalist, covering important events, following dangerous leads, and running from anything that might tie her down. Since an assignment in Cape Town ended in tragedy and regret, Nadine has not returned to South Africa, or opened her heart–until she hears the story of Jason Irving. Jason, an American student, was beaten to death by angry local youths at the height of the apartheid era. Years later, his mother is told that Jason’s killers have applied for amnesty. Jason’s parents pack their bags and fly from Nantucket to Cape Town. Filled with rage, Jason’s mother resolves to fight the murderers’ pleas for forgiveness. As Nadine follows the Irvings to beautiful, ghost-filled South Africa, she is flooded with memories of a time when the pull toward adventure and intrigue left her with a broken heart. Haunted by guilt and a sense of remorse, and hoping to lose herself in her coverage of the murder trial, Nadine grows closer to Jason’s mother as well as to the mother of one of Jason’s killers–with profound consequences. In a country both foreign and familiar, Nadine is forced to face long-buried demons, come to terms with the missing pieces of her own family past, and learn what it means to truly love and to forgive. With her dazzling prose and resonant themes, Amanda Eyre Ward has joined the ranks of such beloved American novelists as Anne Tyler and Ann Patchett. Gripping, darkly humorous, and luminous, Forgive Me is an unforgettable story of dreams and longing, betrayal and redemption.

The year was 1973. A fourteen-year-old girl hitchhiked across the country to the Pacific Coast, then back to the Atlantic Ocean. The answers were all around her; however, she would not be able to recognize them until years later. Meeting with many life-threatening situations, it’s a thousand wonders she is still alive to tell her story. Run Baby Girl Run is written with gut-wrenching honesty and allows the reader to see into the very depths of this beautiful young girl’s soul. Editor: Jackie Hurst www.johnniesuebridges.com Johnnie Sue Bridges incredible life story began with the release of her first book, the highly acclaimed Shadows and Scars, a beautiful story that captures the essence of living in the mountains of Middlesboro, Kentucky, with vivid imagery, comical moments, and raw emotion. In one cold blue night, she writes of an already painful world turning into nothing short of a nightmare. Bitter coldness and survival starts the reader on a journey that portrays a young mother’s fight against poverty, loneliness, and alcoholism, concluding in the riot-torn and racially divided city of Detroit. Shadows and Scars reveals a birds-eye view of the child that struggled to maintain stability in her hauntingly unstable world. Readers will gain the knowledge of endurance within themselves, despite adversity. Book # 2 Motown Girl Sister Golden Hair chronicles her roller coaster ride through the early 70s growing up in the inner city of Detroit’s Westside. Hitting the teen years during the underground time of extreme change, uprisings, experimenting with everything under the sun, came at a very high price—robbery of her self worth and, most importantly, the stolen innocence of the ones she dearly loved. Highly educated in a cultured urban habit, she was forevermore restless and ran incessantly. And by the grace of God, she eventually changed and escaped. However, some of those she held closest to her heart paid the piper with their lives. In her own words, “No one told us that stuff would kill ya.”

WHAT DO I DO WITH MY PAIN? Preparing for church on October 10, 2010, I was reminded of the ways in which I was being used by God in accomplishing HIS will. I am truly grateful, appreciative and remorseful all at the same time. Remorseful because I can remember a time I not only ran from God and what HE had to offer me, but I doubted HIS existence. Grateful because in spite of me and my past, God still loved me [John 15:13] and wanted nothing but the best for me. Appreciative because God never stopped trying to reach me! In creating me for a purpose with a purpose, HE was persistent in HIS approach in making sure I receive my inheritance. Persistent to the point of revealing HIMSELF to me and allowing me to see myself through HIS eyes! My passion for God this day is nothing like I would have imagined. Great is my boldness of speech toward YOU, great is my glorying of YOU: I am filled with comfort, I am exceedingly joyful in all my tribulation. [2 Corinthians 7] Ordering my steps while rebuilding my confidence (trust, belief) and faith in HIM, God was training me to be fearless and teaching me to fight for the uplifting of the Kingdom. Finally, unselfishly yielding myself to HIM, HE gradually enlightened me to HIS plan for my life. Then I realized God was and is with me always as I gladly accepted my assignment in knowing God was deliberately putting me in situations [sending me in places where there was darkness to be HIS light]. Once I was in, God gave me no way out as HE forced me to stand and fight. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. [Romans 8:15] So, this is not a time for passivity! It is a time for all of God's children to join in Spirit as we connect to God's heart in fulfilling HIS will.
