Gott kann sich keiner mehr wirklich vorstellen. Er hat Tausende Gesichter und Namen. Im Mittelalter wurde der liebe Gott, der Kirche vom einfachen Volk gehasst. Die einstigen Jahrtausende -alten Götter wurden verboten. Viele trugen Hörner, Stiersymbole der Kraft und Fruchtbarkeit. Sogar die kraftvolle Statue vom Moses, eines päpstlichen Grabmonumentes, gestaltete Michelangelo mit Hörnern. Auch unsere germanischen Götter und der Druiden wurden verboten. Sie wurden als Teufel mit Hörnern verketzert. Es begann eine blutige Treibjagd der Hexenverfolgung. Abertausende arme, unschuldige Teufel opferte die heilige Inquisition dem "lieben" Gott. Die DDR war ein atheistischer Staat. Die standhaften, antifaschistischen Zeugen Jehovas, welche im KZ überlebten, kamen in den Knast. Auch das uralte heilige Symbol vieler Religionen, das von Hitler entweihte Hakenkreuz, wurde in der BRD und in der DDR verboten. Es gab laufend Auseinandersetzungen, ob es einen personifizierten Gott gib? Dabei wurde sogar ein katholischer Dekan in Wien gefeuert. Der einstige Meditationslehrer der UNO, Sri Chinmyo, gibt über Gott in seinen Büchern aufschlußreiche Auskünfte. In vielfacher Gestalt erscheint Gott, so wie einer an ihn glaubt, z. B. als Licht, als Person oder als innere Stimme. Wer meditiert, geht einen Schritt auf Gott zu, aber diesem kommt Gott hundert Schritte entgegen. Alle großen Religionsführer meditierten, auch Jesus. Jürgen Köditz, der Autor wanderte als Rentner auf die brasilianische Insel Itaparica aus und pflanzte sich dort ein blühendes Gartenparadies. Nächtlich schallen dort oft die dumpfen Trommelklänge der Schamanen. Auch schreibt der einstige Stasiopferdichter weiter seine Gedichte und viele lustige Kurzgeschichten. In seinen Aphorismen spießt er besonders die Ungerechtigkeiten unserer Zeit mit spitzer Feder auf. Seine vielen eBook-Veröffentlichungen bei BookRix sind lesenswert.

A new 2022 translation into American English of Philipp Melanchthon's 1530 Augsburg Confession (Confessio Augustana) and his expansive defense of this important Protestant Confession, his "Apologia der Konfession" published soon after. These translations are followed by the original German manuscripts. This is volume IV in The Complete Works of Philipp Melanchthon The Augsburg Confession is one of the founding documents of Protestantism, directly leading to the Edict of Worms and the formal excommunication of Luther and his compatriots. The Confessio Augustana, written by Melanchthon in New Latin and in Early New High German, was composed by Melanchthon on behalf of the entire Wittenberg Reformation as a polemic against not only Emperor Charles V’s Catholicism, but also other Protestant movements, particularly the Anabaptists and the “enemy of the sacraments” (the Zwinglians). Later editions attempted to include the Zwinglian version of Reformed teachings. Zwingli penned his own version at the exact same time, called the Confessio Tetrapolitana. This confession was refuted by the emperor in June of 1530 in the Confutio Augustana, the Augsburg Refutation. Melanchthons’ Apologia Confessionis Augustanae was in answer to this document, which Melanchthon completed in 1531. The Roman church agreed with the bulk of the articles (Articles 1-3, 5, 8-14, 16-18 and 20), pointing out that the Wittenberg Reformation was deliberately misrepresenting Catholic teachings. Still, the Confutatio condemned the simplistic dichotomy of Faith and Works, and argued that is was based on an over-emphasis on Paul's letters excluding books such as the Book of James, which Martin Luther believed was "inspired by the Devil". This confession was critical for the Religious Wars of the 16th and 17th centuries. The military alliance of the Protestants, the Schmalkaldic League, made the Confessio Augustana the basis of its confederation.

The discovery of the Nag Hammadi Library (1945) has given an enormous impetus not only to the study of ancient Gnosticism but also to that of early Christianity in general.
