Se presentan algunas de las comunicaciones presentadas en el XIII Congreso Internacional de la AJIHLE, Asociación de Jóvenes Investigadores de Historiografía e Historia de la Lengua Española, celebrada en, Salamanca (España), en abril de 2013. Todo aquí está dedicado al pasado, a la historia: a la historia de fenómenos, acontecimientos y datos lingüísticos; a la historia de los estudios y tratamientos dados a esos fenómenos, acontecimientos y datos; y ello en grado diverso. De la historia de las ideas (meta-)lingüísticas sobre el español se ocupan cuatro trabajos (gramaticografía, lexicografía, análisis del discurso) y una mesa redonda de carácter panorámico y metodológico a propósito de la historia e historiografía de las ideas gramaticales (focalizada en la lengua española). De la historia del español trata todo lo demás (25 trabajos; poco más de un 80% del total): artículos sobre asuntos muy variados asignables a los ámbitos de la «Lingüística descriptiva diacrónica», por un lado (más o menos, la «gramática histórica» de los mayores): fonética, representación gráfica de unidades fónicas, sufijos, formación de palabras, clíticos, clases de palabras (numerales, tipos de verbos, adverbios, nexos), gramaticalización de unidades, formas verbales, voseo, dequeísmo… Artículos, por el otro lado, clasificables bajo el marbete de «Estudios sobre la historia» (no precisamente externa) «de la lengua española»; se encuentran aquí aportaciones de temática, metodología y alcance muy diversos: sobre traducciones, relaciones culturales, recepción de corrientes, ideas y términos, variedades diacrónicas y diatópicas, léxico y familias léxicas, terminología, historia de palabras, documentación e inventarios, o nuevos modelos de edición. El lector está accediendo desde estas líneas a un acertado maridaje de asuntos varios de naturaleza histórico-lingüística; se está adentrando, desde este exordio, en una excelente miscelánea —de ejecución cabal por parte de las editoras del volumen— que le permitirá tomar consciencia de la vitalidad y productividad investigadoras de estos jóvenes, así como de la diversidad de cuestiones y líneas de investigación abiertas de que se han hecho cargo los miembros de la asociación. El lector del libro podrá, por último, hacerse una atinada composición de lugar del presente y del futuro próximo de las investigaciones y la metodología de la investigación sobre el pasado de nuestra lengua.

Whose name is hidden behind the anonymity of the key publication on Mediterranean Lingua Franca? What linguistic reality does the label 'Lingua Franca' conceal? These and related questions are explored in this new book on an enduringly important topic. The book presents a typologically informed analysis of Mediterranean Lingua Franca, as documented in the Dictionnaire de la langue franque ou petit mauresque, which provides an important historical snapshot of contact-induced language change. Based on a close study of the Dictionnaire in its historical and linguistic context, the book proposes hypotheses concerning its models, authorship and publication history, and examines the place of the Dictionnaire's Lingua Franca in the structural typological space between Romance languages, on the one hand, and pidgins, on the other. It refines our understanding of the typology of contact outcomes while at the same time opening unexpected new avenues for both linguistic and historical research.

Since the publication of the still very valuable Biblioteca histórica de la filología by Cipriano Muñoz y Manzano, conde de la Viñaza (Madrid, 1893), our knowledge of the history of the study of the Spanish language has grown considerably. It has been the purpose of BICRES I (from the early beginnings to 1600), published in 1994, to bring together already available bibliographical information with the more recent research findings, scattered in many places, books and articles. BICRES II (covering the 1601–1700 period) followed in 1999 and BICRES III (including period 1701-1800) was published in 2005. Now, the fourth volume, arranged according to the same principles as those guiding the preceding volumes and covering the years from 1801 to 1860, has become available. Years of research in the major libraries of Spain and other European countries have gone into this new bibliography and relative sources of the Americas have also been covered, in order to offer — in an as exhaustive as possible fashion — a description of all Spanish grammars and dictionaries, histories of the Spanish language as well as studies devoted to particular facets of its evolution during the years 1801-1860. BICRES IV brings together in chronological order more than 3,279 titles. Access to the bibliographical information is facilitated by several detailed indexes, such as a short title index, a listing of printers, publishers and places of production, and an author index.

Este estudio analiza e interpreta la Gramatica della lingua spagnuola, o sia, L’ italiano istruito nella cognizione di questa lingua de Francesco Marin (1833). Para ello, define y establece el corpus completo de gramáticas de español para italófonos del siglo XIX (Cap. 1.), considera las noticias biográficas del autor (Cap. 2) y sitúa las distintas ediciones de la obra en su ambiente histórico, político, social y editorial (Cap. 3). Luego analiza cualitativa y cuantitativamente la hiperestructura (Cap. 4) y los contenidos del peritexto introductorio (Cap. 5), del cuerpo principal (Cap. 6), de los suplementos lexicográficos (Cap. 7) y del peritexto epilogal de la obra (Cap. 8). Realiza a continuación una serie de calas explorativas del texto (el sistema ortográfico en el Cap. 9, la terminología en el Cap. 10, el recurso a los ejemplos y a la traducción en el Cap. 11 y los tipos y funciones de las notas a pie de página en el Cap. 12) y otras eb¡n las que se interpreta dicho texto (el concepto de contrastividad en el Cap. 13, las obras que sirvieron de fuente a Marin en el Cap. 14 y las obras que se sirvieron de Marin como fuente en el Cap. 15). Se demuestra que la Gramatica de Marin constituye una de las gramáticas de español para italófonos más importantes del siglo XIX, por las informaciones ofrecidas, por su éxito comercial, por haber sido parámetro de referencia en la enseñanza del español durante mucho tiempo y por el nivel de su contrastividad. Una gramática que sirvió de fuente a otras de su siglo y que por tal razón extendió su influencia indirecta hasta muy entrado el siglo XX.
