A scattered, journal-style poetry and prose book which delves into themes of abandonment trauma, detrimental relationships, infatuation, and questioning the status quo. Metaphorical hues of black, white, and gray representative of the darker thoughts which lead us into the abyss, those lighter and softer in nature, and everything in-between, this collection embodies a myriad of reflective undertones to find comfort within.

Holly always assumed that getting superpowers would be the hard part of becoming a superhero. But when a transformer explodes overhead on her way home from work one day, she’s forced to reconsider—getting them was easy. After she’s released from the hospital, she discovers she can control electricity. While Holly is practicing her newfound ability in the backyard, her younger brother Jesse sees her and decides to use his training in martial arts to teach his sister how to rein in her power. Grayscale written by David Huddle and has been published by LSU Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-01-13 with Poetry categories.
In his compelling new collection, David Huddle writes, “We think / we stand in the vivid color of here and now / and view the past as drab black and white, / whereas the truth is — it’s our future / that’s the off-center, badly focused grayscale.” Spiraling between the tenses of time, David Huddle creates in these vibrant poems a defense against the encroachment of age through the resources of language and memory, imagination and art. Moments recollected—and admittedly embellished—from his own life and family seem appealingly familiar: a teenage dance, Grandmama’s morning coffee, young daughters playing dolls. With age, wonder has become understanding, and so when intimations of his death arise in the midst of sharing a joke with his children, the poet shows us the comfort and peace that murky prospect may hold. Playful and fantastic narratives about penguin clans, Jane Goodall and the chimps, and what to do when it snaows offer wit and craft as further barriers against pain and despair. “In my family we were /all good at dreaming,” Huddle's closing poem notes. Undaunted, Huddle gives us in Grayscale not false hopes about our lives but a range of ways to transcend their limits.

It is a coloring technique that uses the existing shading in a grayscale image to create more realistic, three-dimensional, and lifelike works of art. When coloring, you color directly over a grayscale photo, as opposed to line art coloring, where you color the white spaces between the lines. It is a perfect way for both beginning colorists and more advanced artists to create truly stunning coloring pieces. Grayscale coloring for adults is one of the newest and most exciting trends in adult coloring and is gaining popularity fast, and with good reason. People are drawn to grayscale coloring because it is fun! It also results in very realistic pictures that can rival gallery-quality art. Grayscale images are created from specially selected photographs, paintings, and drawings. They are then converted to images for coloring using specialized graphic design software and hand-tuned to create the perfect shading and highlights for coloring. The animals adult coloring book contains tigers, bears, lions, horses, lizards, snakes, butterflies, wolves, foxes, zebras, giraffes, and other animals to color.
