This book will tell the early conflicts of a Grandson and his Grandpa. This conflict led to the boy running away from home as a teenager. The Grandpa was able to reach out in some very cunning ways and led the young man from the "pit" to the "palace." My life from age nineteen to the age of eighty-eight is clearly shown as standing in the shadow of his Giant Oak Tree - Grandpa Ward. The second part of this book introduces us to another Giant Oak Tree - my Grandpa Wright. The story overlaps showing how both men became "Defining Moments" for me. My Grandpa Wright made it possible to own my first horse at age eight. During my eighty-eight years a constant factor has been the horse. I reflect on times of great joy and some horse was there to increase that delightful experience. Many other times of despair, hopelessness, great discouragements, and that alone (all one) feeling. I could often find comfort, consolation and be uplifted by the presence of a horse. I discovered horses speak a language of healing - like God is speaking. The horse has eyes that speak many words. Many times I have ridden in silence and felt a healing not from words or thoughts but the riding pushed my brain to even more silence and allowed me to experience my own emotions. My ultimate goal is showing my horses was fulfilled in 1998 - winning two World Championships. This story will follow the lifelong influence of two Grandpas.
