From rising star Sanne Dufft comes a richly illustrated picture book about nighttime fears, a grandmother's love, and the power of a child's imagination. Morgan, an endearing tousle-haired little boy, feels big and strong during the day with his tall hat and his toy sword. But at night, when he dreams that a robber is coming through the woods to take these precious possessions, all of Mom's assurances that "there is no robber" are not enough to ease his fears. Then Nana brings Morgan a stuffed toy lion, because everybody needs a lion sometimes - and because sometimes, fears in a child's mind can only be conquered with the imagination. That night, Morgan rides a life-sized Night Lion into the woods and together they drive the robber far away. Comforting watercolour illustrations soothe any scary scenes, and the magical Night Lion will find an instant welcome in young readers' hearts.

Arktos written by Joscelyn Godwin and has been published by Adventures Unlimited Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1996 with Nature categories.

"Arktos is the first book ever written on the archetype of the Poles: celestial and terrestrial, North and South. It is a hair-raising voyage through cosmology, occultism and conspiracy theory leads to startling revelations about the secrets of the Poles. The author investigates legends of a Golden Age, which some claim ended in a prehistoric catastrophe, a shift in the earth's axis. This is examined in the light of the latest geological theories, as are predictions of a coming pole-shift. The perennial fascination of these ideas is shown to be part of a "polar tradition" of hidden wisdom. There are many recorded tales of an ancient race said to have lived in the Arctic regions, which later spread through the Northern Hemisphere. This supposedly "Aryan Race" entered the pantheon of Nazi Germany, with dreadful consequences. The author examines the origins of modern neo-Nazi ideology, its "polar" inspiration, and its links with other arcana, including the survival of Hitler, German bases in Antarctica, UFOS, the Hollow Earth, and the hidden kingdoms of Agartha and Shambhala. However, "Arktos" differs from most writings on these subjects in its responsible and scholarly treatment, and its extensive use of foreign-language sources."--Provided by publisher.

Christianity And Buddhism written by Whalen Lai and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001 with Religion categories.

In Christianity and Buddhism Whalen Lai and Michael von Bruck bring together for scholars, students, and interested lay observers the developments and understandings reached in Christian-Buddhist dialogue in six key regions of the world. After a two-generations-long exploration by scholars and devotees, the authors judge it opportune to furnish a bird's-eye view of the terrain that dialogue has covered. Lai and von Bruck explore questions such as what is meant by a-theism and God-talk in the two traditions, asking whether the dialogue has revealed irreconcilable opposition or areas where each side can profit from insights from the other. They acknowledge that similarities of language in the two traditions can mask differences in substance, while differences in language can mask agreements in substance: and it is not always clear which is the case. While a first-generation dialoguer, Joseph Kitagawa, once noted that "mutual monologue" was a better description of the Christian-Buddhist project than "dialogue", Lai and von Bruck point to areas of important, dynamic understanding and clarification of where dialogue needs to go to address disagreements as well.
