This textbook for psychotherapists and group therapists encourages the reader to reflect on their own group experiences throughout their life journey and to relate these insights to therapy processes. Psychological life and personal development always occur within networks. Analytical group therapy utilizes this and makes psychological processes visible that often remain unclear in individual treatments. Our understanding of human psychological development is transforming in light of neuroscientific findings and against the backdrop of the complex societal challenges of our time, evolving into a view of humans as social animals. We are witnessing a resurgence in group therapy and an openness to theories that emphasize our mutual dependence in a positive sense. Togetherness and solidarity can thus be practiced collectively, unleashing transformative power for change in individuals, but also for society. Many relatable examples, especially from therapeutic groups, illustrate this. Written for: Psychotherapists, group therapists, group leaders in the medical and social fields. About the Author: Dipl. Psych. Volker Münch, Psychological Psychotherapist in private practice in Munich. Teaching analyst, supervisor, and lecturer at MAP, Munich. Publications on topics such as therapeutic attitude, digitalization, and midlife crisis.

Challenging Climate Change written by Arne Wossink and has been published by Sidestone Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009 with Agriculture categories.
Throughout history, climate change has been an important driving force behind human behaviour. This archaeological study seeks to understand the complex interrelations between that behaviour and climatic fluctuations, focussing on how climate affected the social relations between neighbouring communities of occasionally differing nature. It is argued that developments in these relations will fall within a continuum between competition on one end and cooperation on the other. The adoption of a particular strategy depends on whether that strategy is advantageous to a community in terms of the maintenance of its well-being when faced with adverse climate change. This model will be applied to northern Mesopotamia between 3000 and 1600 BC. Local palaeoclimate proxy records demonstrate that aridity increased significantly during this period. Within this geographical, chronological, and climatic framework, this study looks at changes in settlement patterns as an indication of competition among sedentary agriculturalist communities, and the development of the Amorite ethnic identity as reflecting cooperation among sedentary and more mobile pastoralist communities.

Why are support groups important? How are they formed, run and ended? How can untrained personnel develop a basic capability in running support groups? Psychological support is now known to be a significant counter to the psychological and physical effects of stress and life pressure. Support may be provided in various forms but the support group is both efficient and powerful. It is suitable in healthcare, education, and elements of industry and commerce. However, professionals in these sectors will often hold back from offering support groups because of lack of training and experience. This book is designed to overcome this problem. It is written for professional people who can see a value for support group work within their organization and working life but hesitate from lack of experience. Presented in a conversational style, the book serves as a tutorial outlining the benefits of support groups and the essential aspects of forming, beginning and then running a support group. It also provides practical examples and case discussion with a focus on the problems and queries that a novice leader might encounter. Leading a Support Group is an excellent resource for a wide range of professionals that includes nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dieticians, clinical psychologists, health psychologists, social workers/care worker supervisors, teachers and human resource personnel.
