The Guide for Rehabilitation Workforce Evaluation (GROWE) comprises a suite of resources that can be applied in countries to provide information to support planning and advocacy at the national or subnational level. GROWE applies a labour market and competency analysis approach to help stakeholders in countries not only capture the state of the rehabilitation workforce, but to understand the problems and opportunities that the system and workers are facing. GROWE requires an investment of time and resources that may not be warranted in every country, depending on the maturity and coverage of the rehabilitation workforce. GROWE may have application in countries which are looking to strengthen an emerging professional multidisciplinary rehabilitation workforce, and where there are some paid rehabilitation jobs in the health system. It is unlikely to be applicable in countries where there are no or very few (such as only one or two) professional rehabilitation occupations in the country and services are staffed by international workers, and where there is no investment in rehabilitation jobs.

The 3rd Global Rehabilitation 2030 meeting was held at WHO headquarters on 10 and 11 July 2023. Since the Rehabilitation 2030: Call for action was launched in 2017, the rehabilitation sector has made significant progress. Over the past 6 years, rehabilitation stakeholders together with WHO have provided technical support to Member States and developed a series of normative guidance and tools that support strengthening rehabilitation in health systems. The 3rd Global Rehabilitation 2030 meeting was an opportunity to review progress of the Rehabilitation 2030 Call for Action so far, as well as to prepare for and coordinate the actions requested in the recent WHA76.6 resolution "Strengthening rehabilitation in health systems" adopted in May 2023. This report summarizes the key discussions, decisions and action points from the meeting.

A Strategic Roundtable on Building an NCD-ready workforce was convened on 3-4 June, 2021 in collaboration between the WHO Department for NCDs and the Health Workforce Department. The Roundtable brought together public health and workforce experts from Ministries of Health, WHO and other partners to discuss key principles of workforce optimization through strengthening competencies, workforce planning and engaging communities and providers for the provision of NCD care and to share country experiences. The meeting sought to review a provisional approach for meaningful support for countries to build an NCD-ready workforce across key thematic areas. The technical meeting report summarizes presentations and lessons shared during the Roundtable and includes a draft pathway to building an NCDready workforce.
