Excerpt from Handbook on Patents for Scottish Solicitors There are several good books on patent law, and this little volume cannot, and makes no attempt to, displace them. These larger books do not, however, give the solicitor all the information and advice that he may de sire, and, moreover, the (commendable) attempt of their authors to state the law in its entirety, and elucidate it with adequate examples and references to Law Court decisions, often demands from the consulter the perusal of a large amount of matter in order to get the desired information. In the present book the several matters dealt with have been treated as concisely as possible but in the case of such subjects as assignations and licences it has been necessary to speak somewhat lengthily in order that the necessary information and advice might be given. The author will be glad to receive suggestions in regard to additional matter which, in the opinion of readers, might advantageously be included in a future edition. A Practitioner S Guide To European Patent Law written by Paul England and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-09-08 with Law categories.

This new edition is a comprehensive and practical guide to European patent law – a 'ius commune'. The book highlights the areas of consistency and difference between the most influential European patent law jurisdictions: the European Patent Office, England and Wales, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. The book also draws insights from further afield, with contributions from other, very active, patent jurisdictions, including Italy, Sweden, Denmark, and Switzerland. Uniquely, the book addresses European patent law by subject matter area, assessing the key national and EPO approaches together rather than nation by nation. Each chapter outlines the common ground between the national approaches and provides a guide for the possible application of European patent law in national courts and the UPC in the future. In addition to featuring content on new countries, the second edition includes new chapters dedicated to the substantive aspects of FRAND, declarations, and evidence. There is also an expanded commentary on construction, including common terms used in patent claims. A must-read for anyone working in the field of European patent law.
