The Path To Harness Racing Handicapping Profits written by Douglas Masters and has been published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-08-15 with categories.

This book is a LARGE PRINT format paperback using an 18 pt. Arial font. This book represents three decades of handicapping and betting harness races and is a summary of observations that are important to being a winning player. This book summarizes the conclusions on what made the author a winning player. There is no magic formula to become a winning player and the author is the first to say that there is more than one road to profits. This book is the road taken by Doug Masters to becoming a winning player. Becoming a winning player is part art and part skill, so it is impossible to summarize it as a mechanical method; however, Doug attempts to outline his process in the second half of the book. This book may be difficult for beginning harness handicappers to read because it does not explain any basic terminology. There are, however, glossaries of harness racing terms online as well in the racing programs of harness tracks. There are no winning examples in this book. This is a quote from the author in the introduction. "You will find no past performances listed in this book; this is intentional. Anyone who has been around harness racing for even a few years has probably read various books and publications offering a handicapping system. All of them will have examples of how a handicapping system or angle picked a winner. Anyone can do this, especially when so many of these authors are working backwards from the winner. To me, it is simply a waste of time. And besides, only a mediocre or inexperienced handicapper is going to believe there is a single path to success in wagering. This book consists of my observations of the sport and how it relates to my own handicapping perspective. If you are looking for a system that represents some sort of absolute truth, you're looking in the wrong place." Topics include: Handicapping Factors, Drivers, Horse Form, Speed, Pace, Class, Post position, Track, Statistics, Betting multiple racetracks.

Handicapper S Outline written by Manuel H. Acosta and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12 with Sports & Recreation categories.

Handicapper's Outline is a collection of the author's experiences with and thoughts on the greyhound dog races, some comments on other handicap systems, clarification of commonly referenced dog race handicap terminology, a layout of the grade system for all known dog tracks currently in operation, and the presentation of a simplified dog race handicap system with past performance practices to enhance your handicap skills. I'm originally from Kansas. I am a US Marine Corps Vietnam veteran (Semper Fi) and a retired law enforcement officer with twenty-five years of service. I relocated to Washington State three months after I retired, and I currently reside there. I am a first-time author. I was introduced to greyhound dog races in 1983, and I traveled on several occasions to Bluffs Run greyhound dog track in Council Bluffs, Iowa before the Woodlands greyhound dog track began operation in September of 1989 in Basehor, Kansas. In 1992, I placed all recorded information on greyhound dog races in a file cabinet folder, and it remained there for the next seventeen years. In 2009, I began my efforts to develop a greyhound dog race handicap system in earnest. My ultimate goal was to develop a simplified handicap system that would enhance every greyhound dog race enthusiast's enjoyment of the sport.

Former Santa Anita handicapper and author, Paul Lambrakis, offers up a fresh new approach to horse race analysis. Paul tells readers that in order to handicap more effectively and get better prices, they must eliminate the speed figures from their handicapping. According to Paul, who has been handicapping for over thirty-five years, the speed figures have never delivered on what they set out to do years ago. What they deliver is disappointment and short prices. Paul's method of horse race analysis is practical and straightforward. He tells you what areas of the past performances to focus on and what to look for. Paul will also reveal to you the one area of the PP's that most handicappers overlook. It is here where you will find valuable clues to help you spot those higher-paying horses. Innovative Horse Race Handicapping is tailor-made for handicapping all the major US racetracks!

Self Handicapping written by Raymond L. Higgins and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-11-11 with Psychology categories.

The concept of self-handicapping can be legitimately anchored in a vari ety of intellectual contexts, some old and some newer. As this volume reminds us, Alfred Adler was perhaps the first to articulate the signifi cance of various self-defeating claims and gestures for protecting the self concept. Thus the apparent paradox of "defeat" in the interests of "pro tection. " More recently (but still more than 30 years ago), Heider's "naive psychology" added attributional rhetoric to the description of self-defeat ing strategies. While predominantly cognitive in its thrust, the attribu tional approach incorporated several motivational influences-especially those involving egocentric concerns. Heider hardly violated our common sense when he suggested that people are inclined to attribute their performances in a self-serving manner: the good things I caused; the bad things were forced upon me. The notion of self-handicapping strategies, proposed by Berglas and myself a little more than a decade ago, capitalized on these homely truths while adding a particular proactive twist. We not only make ex cuses for our blunders; we plan our engagements and our situational choices so that self-protective excuses are unnecessary. In doing so, we use our attributional understanding to arrange things so that flawed and failing performances will not be interpreted in ways that threaten our self-esteem.
