Buku ini membahas tentang realitas kemahasiswaan sebagai pelaksana budaya akademik. Budaya akademik, kini telah mengalami pergeseran nilai. Nilai-Nilai rasional dan kritis selalu didekatkan dalam bentuk emosionalitas dan subjektifitas. Padahal budaya akademik yang sebenarnya adalah budaya akademik yang terintegrasi ke dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan akademik yang berdasar pada nilai-nilai; rasionalitas, kritis, terbuka, demokratis dan disisi lain bertujuan untuk menciptakan tridarma kampus yang maju sampai menyebut menuju world class campus. Untuk mewujudkan budaya akademik yang ideal adalah mahasiswa banyak menghabiskan waktu untuk membaca dan diskusi sesuai jurusan yang digeluti. Dengan begitu, maka akan lebih mudah untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan.
