Hating for Jesus is about escaping that corruption. The title is not meant to shock you; it is a deeper spiritual matter than that. When Jesus preached that people had to count the cost before they could call themselves "Christians," they were the salt of the world. Now, down through the centuries, we have opened the narrow gate wider and wider. "Hating for Jesus" looks squarely at Luke 14:26: If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters, even his own life he cannot be my disciple. This book does not shrink back from the offense of the cross. Hating for Jesus is about lifting Jesus up crucified and understanding that He did nothing by His own power, wisdom, or initiative. It returns to the very fundamentals of what it means to call oneself a "Christian." For those willing to hate for Jesus, the richest of fellowship awaits them: fellowship with the living God. Timothy Williams is not a professional writer. He is not a trained speaker and, like the disciples, is ordinary and unschooled (Acts 4:13). He is not insane enough to boast of ministry outreach or other works in the Lord to motivate you to buy this book, (2 Cor. 11:23). Nor is the reader offered any letters of recommendation by well-known Christians (2 Cor. 3:1). Tim is only interested in sharing how the Lord calls us to live out 1 Corinthians 2:2: "For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucifi ed."
