Addison's disease is a severe endocrine disorder that can lead to various health problems. It is caused by an overproduction of the hormone Addison's disease-associated peptide (ADAP). The body produces ADAP in response to stress, infection, or injury. ADAP levels increase in the blood and urine in people with Addison's disease. ADAP affects many different parts of the body and can cause various symptoms. Addison's disease has no known cure, but treatments can help manage the symptoms. Treatment options include medication, surgery, and therapy. Many people with Addison's disease require lifelong care and support. Addison's disease is a rare disease that affects the adrenal gland. It can cause symptoms such as fatigue, low potassium levels, and mood changes. It can be life-threatening if not treated. Addison's diseases are a group of rare conditions that affect the adrenal glands. Adrenal glands are located just above the kidneys and produce an adrenalin hormone. Adrenal gland diseases can cause symptoms, including fatigue, low blood pressure, and weight loss. Addison's disease is a severe condition that can require lifelong treatment. Most people with Addison's disease develop symptoms during their teenage years or early twenties. There is no known cure for Addison's disease, but treatments can help improve symptoms. Addison's disease has three types: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Primary Addison's disease is the most common type and is caused by a problem with the adrenal glands. Secondary Addison's disease is caused by a problem with the body's response to the adrenal gland. A problem with the adrenal gland or other organs in the body causes tertiary Addison disease. What are Addison's diseases? Addison's disease is a condition that results from a lack of hormones called adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) or corticotrophin. Corticotrophin is produced in the pituitary gland and regulates the body's production of other hormones, including ACTH. When the body doesn't have enough corticotrophin, ACTH levels become too high and can damage the adrenal gland. Addison's disease has three types: primary, secondary, and tertiary. Primary Addison's disease is the most common form and is caused by a deficiency of ACTH. Secondary Addison's disease is caused by a problem producing ACTH or corticotrophin in other body parts. Tertiary Addison's disease is the rarest form and is caused by a problem with the function of the adrenal gland.

While survival rates for children with cancer have increased in recent times, the increased use of more aggressive therapies has brought with it significant adverse effects. Therefore, the aim of pediatric oncologists has become to achieve "cure at least cost" by the appropriate reduction of the intensity and/or duration of treatment in carefully identified good prognosis patients. By comprehensively covering these issues, this handbook aims to provide residents in pediatric hematology and oncology, as well as staff in related medical or other healthcare disciplines, with an easily accessible source of information about the basic principles of childhood cancer and leukemia, as well as much of the more detailed specialist knowledge required to care for children with these conditions. Divided into sections to allow quick access to the necessary information, the handbook covers general principles of diagnosis and treatment, short and long term care, and oncological emergencies before moving on to chapters on specific disease. Normal values and useful websites are also included for reference.
