All the information men need to stay healthy and get more life out of their years Written by a specialist consultant trained in urology and andrology. Author draws from his experience treating men in the men's health clinic at Changi General Hospital. Book covers all the main issues-physical, sexual and mental-that men face as they age. Written in a friendly, easy-to-read style, with the layman in mind. Men are living longer today but many find that they do not have the energy or capability to enjoy this extra bit of life. Advancing age does not mean having to slow down because one is older. With knowledge, awareness and better care of his body, a man can extend his physical, mental and sexual capability and have so many more fulfilling and active years. Managing Male Aging is about healthy aging in men; it is not a book about diseases. It examines the problems that affect a man's quality of life and how to deal with them. Covering general aspects of aging and andropause, sexual problems like erectile dysfunction, physical problems like urinary issues and common concerns like balding, weak bones, obesity, poor vision and hearing, as well as memory loss, it is a book with all the information men need to stay healthy and get more life out of their years. Dr Ng Kok Kit is a consultant in the Department of Urology at Changi General Hospital (CHG). He also runs the Andropause and Men's Health Clinic at CGH. A member of the Singapore Urological Society, he was the deputy chairman for the Andrology guidelines. He also sits on the executive committee of the Society for Men's Health (Singapore). Dr Ng graduated from the National University of Singapore with a medical degree in 1995 and began specializing in Urology in 1999. He was a fellow at the Concord Hospital in Sydney, Australia, from 2001 to 2002, where he worked and further trained in Urology and Andrology. He obtained fellowship in the Academy of Medicine in 2004 in the field of Urology. Besides his work in the hospital, Dr Ng is actively involved in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education as a clinical teacher for the National University of Singapore's Faculty of Medicine. In 2007, he served as chairman for the Advance Course in Urology organised by the Singapore Urological Society.

Learn from someone who is proof that making small changes now can pay off big-time when it comes to maintaining your health and fitness as you get older. He is still in excellent health, very active, and takes no medications. The book shows the reader how they can greatly increase their own chances of leading an active and healthy life right into their eighties. Wellness Improvement By examining all the main factors affecting our wellness - diet & nutrition, fitness & exercise, stress levels, brain health and genetic factors - the author identifies some of the main causes of age-related health issues once we reach sixty and over, and what we can do about it. But the book goes beyond the typical diet and exercise recommendations. It focuses on why people aren't doing enough to stay healthy, and what they need to do to improve this situation. It discusses the motivational side of making lifestyle changes, and describes the habit-forming process. Based on his own experience Mike Stapenhurst shows the reader a hands-on practical approach to start making changes in their daily lives. The impact of your genes on your wellness is also discussed in detail. Your genetic makeup may not be the main factor that determines your level of health and longevity.
