Un-heimlich bestürzt und fassungslos-verstört in Anbetracht der näher rückenden Kriege und des Terrors suchten die Teilnehmer der Jahrestagung 2016 der Deutschen Psychoanalytischen Gesellschaft in Stuttgart in Vorträgen, Seminaren und Arbeitsgruppen nach einem Zugang, um sich mit den Ursachen und Folgen von Vertreibung, Entwurzelung, Verlust von Vertrauen und von Geborgenheit auseinander zu setzen und fragten sich mit Jean Améry: "Wieviel Heimat braucht der Mensch?" Viele Millionen Menschen sind heimatlos und auf der Flucht. In unserem Land werden wir an Zerstörungen, Leid und Vertreibungen erinnert, die von Deutschland ausgingen, und wir denken an den Zusammenbruch 1945, in dessen Gefolge Millionen Vertriebene eine neue Heimat suchten. Diese historischen Erfahrungen sind in vielen Familien als psychisches Erbe eingeschrieben, werden wieder lebendig und äußern sich nicht selten in entstellter Form. Inzwischen haben Flüchtlingsbewegungen auch Mitteleuropa erreicht und schaffen in Deutschland eine ganz neue Situation. Der Empfang ist sehr unterschiedlich. Mitgefühl und eine große, 2015 sogar überschwängliche Hilfsbereitschaft zeigen Sicherheit und Einfühlungsvermögen der hier Ansässigen, aber den Flüchtlingen schlagen auch Ablehnung und Feindseligkeit entgegen. Auf eine allen innewohnende Repräsentanz des Fremden werden einerseits Wünsche und Hoffnungen projiziert, ebenso aber auch alles, was im eigenen Inneren unakzeptabel ist und Angst macht. Flüchtlinge bringen ihre Gewalt- und Todeserfahrungen mit, werden als "Boten des Unglücks" (B. Brecht) bekämpft, aber auch als Mutige beneidet. Dabei sind Vertreibung, Flucht, Exil und Auswanderung Teil der Geschichte der Menschheit, und "heimatlos" zu sein ist eine anthropologische Grundkonstante. "Heimatlos" muss nicht nur mit Verlust, Trauer, Schmerz, Trennung, Traumatisierung und Verunsicherung verknüpft sein.
