In the dark says since the attack on the World Trade Center, the question that many Americans have asked is: Why? Why do 'they' hate us as they do? Is it, as our leaders would have us believe, because they hate our freedom? To understand what others find objectionable in us, we must take a long and brutally honest view of how we act, versus what we like to say about ourselves. The facts, as this book demonstrates, are incontrovertible: Our history is an unbroken progression of atrocities, betrayals of trust, and abuses of the rule of law, both to our global neighbors as well as our own citizens. Since the arrival of the first settlers, we have cheated and swindled, committed the most sweeping genocide in history (100,000,000 members of the indigenous populations), attacked civilian populations with nuclear weapons, promoted conflicts at home and abroad, supported brutal right-wing regimes, bullied those weaker than us, and performed gruesome experiments on the most defenseless of our own citizens: poor southern blacks, retarded teens, and pregnant women. These, sadly, are the facts, and are what others see when we say our proud slogans about peace and promoting democracy. But who among us is actually responsible for this ignominious state of affairs? As Perni argues, all of these iniquities can be traced to three sources: big business, fundamentalist, right-wing Christians, whom he characterizes as our own domestic Taliban, and a corrupt government that serves the corporations while manipulating the easily swayed voters.

Skylar Malone (Johann Hiedler) has come a long way from his birthplace in Berlin and childhood in the hills of Argentina and Paraguay. Years have passed-a lifetime. As a Private Investigator who has lived with amnesia in America for the past ten years, and who is now in pursuit of a serial killer; he encounters dark flashes of his past. Flashes that stagger him with sobering recollections of his true identity. Why scenes of a flaming swastika prey on his mind; why he is constantly besieged with reminders that he wears the mask of Hitler; he does not know. Attempting to dismiss these uncertain recollections, Malone soon finds himself espousing viewpoints and inclinations that once stirred the world to war. While closing in on the killer who has been terrorizing California's East Bay, Malone's memory comes sweeping across his mind with the truth of who he is-Johann Hiedler, son of Adolph Hitler and Eva Braun. His life unravels before him when confronted by the grouping of the three most significant people in his life: Theresa Meister, Bishop Hudal, and Valeri Zhukov. Theresa Meister, his true love, now a young woman, was the girl he met as a young man in Paraguay. Bishop Hudal, nephew of the Vatican's Bishop Hudal who aided the escape of many Nazis via the Underground Railroad, is the man Hiedler recruited in Paraguay toward resurrecting his father's quest. Valeri Zhukov, son the Russian General who commanded the assault on Hitler's Berlin bunker, is now the prime target of the East Bay killer; the man Hiedler intends to personally eliminate in avenging his father's death. From the moment his memory returns; Malone, now Hiedler, focuses the entire thrust of his life on reawakening the National Socialist campaign with Theresa Meister by his side. That thrust leads to the portent of things to come... ...a resurgence of the Nazi Regime in modern America.

Hate Prejudice And Racism written by Milton Kleg and has been published by SUNY Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993-01-01 with Social Science categories.

Hate Prejudice and Racism provides a comprehensive overview of the problems created by prejudiced attitudes, racist beliefs, and acts of discrimination, from the casual racial or ethnic joke to the unrestrained violence of a lynch mob. It addresses such topics as the nature of ethnicity, stereotyping, aggression, and hate groups and individuals who promote ethnic and racial hatred. Kleg's discussion of ethnicity and ethnic groups challenges us to reexamine the meaning of a multicultural society. He traces the history of race as a scientific concept and its use as a social concept designed to stigmatize and subordinate members of minority racial and ethnic groups. Chapters on prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination scapegoating provide a foundation for the chapter on hate groups and haters, which includes in-depth descriptions of beliefs and activities of white-supremacist groups and individuals who promote racism and anti-Semitism. Finally, Kleg outlines implications of hate prejudice and racism for educators and all cultural workers, outlining suggestions on how to approach and study this important and controversial topic.
