Hidden Radio Frequencies explores the intriguing world of covert radio communication, revealing how hidden radio frequencies are used by military organizations and others to transmit messages beyond the reach of standard scanners. The book examines the technology, historical context, and impact of these clandestine channels on global security and electronic surveillance. Discover how frequency modulation and signal encryption are manipulated to conceal messages within ordinary radio waves, and how historical developments like frequency hopping during World War II shaped modern secure communication. The book progresses from fundamental concepts of radio wave propagation and encryption methods to historical case studies and present-day applications. Hidden Radio Frequencies stands out by providing an accessible overview of the technical and historical dimensions of hidden radio communication. It assesses the implications of covert radio communication on cybersecurity and international relations, underlining how control of these frequencies impacts national security and individual privacy.

Instinctive Computing written by Yang Cai and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-01-09 with Computers categories.

This book attempts to connect artificial intelligence to primitive intelligence. It explores the idea that a genuinely intelligent computer will be able to interact naturally with humans. To form this bridge, computers need the ability to recognize, understand and even have instincts similar to humans. The author organizes the book into three parts. He starts by describing primitive problem-solving, discussing topics like default mode, learning, tool-making, pheromones and foraging. Part two then explores behavioral models of instinctive cognition by looking at the perception of motion and event patterns, appearance and gesture, behavioral dynamics, figurative thinking, and creativity. The book concludes by exploring instinctive computing in modern cybernetics, including models of self-awareness, stealth, visual privacy, navigation, autonomy, and survivability. Instinctive Computing reflects upon systematic thinking for designing cyber-physical systems and it would be a stimulating reading for those who are interested in artificial intelligence, cybernetics, ethology, human-computer interaction, data science, computer science, security and privacy, social media, or autonomous robots.

Underwater Communications written by Marco Lanzagorta and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-05-31 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Underwater vehicles and underwater moorings are increasing in tactical importance. As such, it is critical to have a robust and secure communication system connecting underwater vehicles on a long seaborne mission and a ground station. As a matter of fact, the deployment of efficient communication links with underwater vehicles is one of the greatest technological challenges presently confronted by the world's naval forces. To circumvent most of the limitations involved in the use of RF or acoustic channels for perfectly secure communications with underwater vehicles, it is worth considering the feasibility of an optical channel to facilitate a two-way satellite communication link secured via perfectly secure ciphers enabled by a quantum key distribution protocol. This book offers a concise review of underwater communications systems. Our approach is pedagogical, making a strong emphasis on the physics behind the attenuating properties of the oceanic environment and the propagation of electromagnetic signals in the ELF, VLF, and optical bands. We assume the reader is familiar with the basic principles of classical electrodynamics and optics. The system design, components, and noise analysis of an underwater optical communications device are discussed in detail. Furthermore, we offer simulations of the performance of the communication system for different types of ocean waters. Our final conclusion is that it appears to be feasible to design and build underwater communications using optical classical and quantum channels secured with quantum key distribution protocols.
