Advances In Jet Substructure At The Lhc written by Roman Kogler and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-05-10 with Science categories.
This book introduces the reader to the field of jet substructure, starting from the basic considerations for capturing decays of boosted particles in individual jets, to explaining state-of-the-art techniques. Jet substructure methods have become ubiquitous in data analyses at the LHC, with diverse applications stemming from the abundance of jets in proton-proton collisions, the presence of pileup and multiple interactions, and the need to reconstruct and identify decays of highly-Lorentz boosted particles. The last decade has seen a vast increase in our knowledge of all aspects of the field, with a proliferation of new jet substructure algorithms, calculations and measurements which are presented in this book. Recent developments and algorithms are described and put into the larger experimental context. Their usefulness and application are shown in many demonstrative examples and the phenomenological and experimental effects influencing their performance are discussed. A comprehensive overview is given of measurements and searches for new phenomena performed by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations. This book shows the impressive versatility of jet substructure methods at the LHC.

Perspectives On Higgs Physics written by Gordon Kane and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993-01-08 with Science categories.
The masses of fermions and gauge bosons enter the Standard Model through the Higgs mechanism, which is satisfactory technically but is not understood physically. We do not know what nature really does to give mass to particles, nor what experimental clues will lead us to nature's solution. Understanding Higgs physics is necessary in order to complete the Standard Model, and to learn how to extend it and improve its foundations. This book is a collection of current work and thinking about these questions by active workers. It speculates about what form the answers will take, as well as updates and extends previous books and reviews. Some chapters emphasize theoretical questions, some focus on connections with other areas of physics, and some discuss how we can get the data to uncover nature's solution.

Perspectives On Supersymmetry Ii written by G. L. Kane and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010 with Science categories.
This volume begins with an excellent pedagogical introduction to the physics and methods and formalism of supersymmetry which is accessible to anyone with a basic knowledge of the Standard Model of particle physics. Next is an overview of open questions, followed by chapters on topics such as how to detect superpartners and tools for studying them, the current limits on superpartner masses as we enter the LHC era, the lightest superpartner as a dark matter candidate in thermal and non-thermal cosmological histories, and associated Z'physics. Most chapters have been extended and updated from the earlier edition and some are new. --

Particle Physics Perspectives And Opportunities Report Of The Dpf Committee On Long Term Planning written by Robert N Cahn and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995-09-20 with categories.
This book is the result of a broad-based and in-depth study of high energy physics commissioned by the Executive Committee of the Division of Particles and Fields of the American Physical Society. This year-long study was initiated in the early 1994, in the wake of the cancellation of the SSC, and is meant to complement the report of the Drell HEPAP subpanel, charged with providing a vision for the future of the field. The DPF study of high energy physics was organized on the basis of the working groups, each led by a number of co-conveners chosen among established leaders in the various subspecialties in the field. These conveners, in turn, organized their working groups by inviting other active workers in the discipline to participate and gathered further input from the community by holding a variety of specialized meetings and workshops. This book contains the final reports of the 11 working groups assembled for the study, along with an extended overview and executive summary by the editors.

This volume treats various facets of the dark matter problem. Its themes include astronomical data (galaxy rotation curves, dynamics of galaxy clusters, microlensing of stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud), particle physics (nonbaryonic dark matter, neutrinos) and computer simulation of the evolution of large-scale structure in the universe. Solar neutrinos and prospects for their detection through underground experiments are also discussed. The book will provide a useful reference for all those interested in astroparticle physics.

Radiative Corrections Radcor 98 Application Of Quantum Field Theory To Phenomenology Proceedings Of 4th written by Joan Sola and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999-09-17 with categories.
This volume contains the contributions of 47 leading researchers in high energy physics, both theorists and experimentalists, from all over the world. It discusses the application of quantum field theory to phenomenology in all areas of active research in particle physics. The topics covered include: (i) the status of precision measurements at LEP, SLC, HERA, Tevatron, and other experiments; (ii) quantum-field-theoretical techniques for calculating electroweak and QCD radiative corrections; and (iii) radiative corrections and precision experiments in future colliders (Tevatron II, LHC, NLC, Muon Collider, etc.). The confrontation in a single volume of all the high precision results reported by experimentalists, on one side, with the predictions of the Standard Model (SM) at the level of radiative corrections, on the otherside, provides a detailed test of the SM at the quantum level. And, where discrepancies appear, it gives hints of physics beyond the SM (such as supersymmetry, effective quantum field theories, etc.) which are thoroughly discussed in the book.
