In this wonderful book, "Live a Life of Love," you will go on a beautiful journey of new discoveries and needed basics about love. You will learn how to receive the love you need, how to feel love, give love, express love, and grow in love. While becoming more loving, you will also become more loveable. Even those in your constellation of relationships will reap the benefits of your reading and reflecting on this book. In these pages, you will read many delightful or touching stories. True stories, of course. We learn from stories, our own and other's stories. Each story will illustrate some aspect of love. There are so many facets to love! So many ways to love, and so many ways to express it. This book is for those who want to become a more loving person, without becoming Mother Teresa. You don't have to aspire to greatness, just seek to walk through each day with love in mind. In this way, you will patiently grow your stores of love and have more to enjoy and more to share. "Live a Life of Love" was birthed from my own very real struggles to learn how to love. In my younger years, I felt very alone, empty, unloved and unloving, and unaware of life's meaning. The turning point for me was when I decided to embrace a connection with God, for God is love. Still, how to love remained a mystery to me. I was raised in a cold place, but I wanted to live in a warm place. I was raised with a famine of affection, but wanted to serve a feast of affection, affirmation and kindness to my own family and friends. After meeting the author of love, my life became a quest to be a lover of God, myself and others - to learn how to effectively and extravagantly love all in my life, even those who sometimes make it hard to love them. One of the more difficult lessons was learning to love myself. But it was a key lesson. In this book we explore what it means to follow the great commandments of love: to love God, love yourself and love others. I am writing from a Christian perspective, but I believe anyone can find principles and guidelines in this book that will help them understand real love and learn to express it more freely. The book is designed to be used as a personal journey or in a group study session. At the end of each chapter, I've included a relevant quote, Bible verse and prayer to help you implement what you just learned in that chapter. Many people read a chapter a day and use the book as one would a devotional. It is also an excellent resource for use in Bible study groups or book clubs. Questions for group discussion are included for each chapter. As the songs say, what the world needs now is love, sweet love. All we need is love. Love is a many-splendored thing. And we all want to know what love is. Let me help you see more clearly what love is. Buy this book and learn more about living a life of love!

It is amazing to be loved by God. Don't you feel blessed to be loved by a Father who deeply loves you regardless of all your imperfections? God's love is so beautiful. His love is so powerful, the human mind cannot comprehend it. There's no love greater than the love of God. No love can satisfy you like the love of God. God's love does something to us and in us that we cannot explain. He loves us because it is His nature to, not because of what we did or didn't do right? We deserve nothing, but He gives us everything. We deserved death for our sins but He gave us life through the blood of Jesus Christ. In spite of our shortcomings, God's love is showered upon us in its wholeness and awesomeness. He expresses His unfathomable love for us in so many awesome ways - in His love we find so many beautiful things that He adorns us with. God wants us to extend His love to others and we can only love the right way when we make Him our source of love. This book tells us how.

Love Gives Life written by Evan May and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-01-23 with Religion categories.

Love Gives Life: A Study of 1 Corinthians 13 We are to pursue love as we seek spiritual gifts because love gives life to gifts and love outlives gifts. That's Paul's main idea in 1 Corinthians 13, and this study will help you not only to see that in the text but to seek it in your life. The thirteenth chapter of First Corinthians is about having a love strategy. Paul relativizes what we tend to value most (usually our personal distinctives and niches), places love in central view, and summons us to use every power and resource we have for the good of those whom God has placed in our lives. This is the excellent way of love, and it is worthy of our pursuit. Here's what others are saying about this work: If you're like me, you have either heard or taught love from 1 Corinthians 13. You may even think that you have heard most, if not all of the insights of 1 Corinthians 13. I did. That is, until I read Evan May's take on the text. Evan brings us into Paul's thoughts in a clear and engaging way, which is somewhat hard to do. Not only that, he brings clarity to the definition of love which has been hijacked and is now defined as "undogmatic" and "untheological." However, love is very dogmatic and very theological. In a world where social media has made us, "fall for the delusion that what makes us significant is mainly what causes us to stand out from everyone else, rather than what helps us to serve everyone else," what we all need now is a little bit of love, properly understood that is. Read this book! Curtis Allen Rap artist Voice, author of Education or Imitation: Bible Interpretation for Dummies Like You and Me Evan May's Love Gives Life: A Study of 1 Corinthians 13 is a good example of what Paul says in 1 Cor. 14:26, "Let all things be done for building up." It is brief, unpretentious, but says what must be said to bring the message of the "love chapter" to the heart of the reader. May has been personally moved by Paul's words, and he wants to convey to us the same blessing he has found. He has a wonderful gift for simple, conversational writing, with the most natural and appropriate illustrations. He never assaults the reader, but nurtures him gently, so that we find ourselves growing in grace, almost by surprise. No academic trappings here, but May's understanding of the passage is substantial. I hope that many take the opportunity to learn from this book. Dr. John Frame Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy at Reformed Theological Seminary and author of the Theology of Lordship series The apostle Paul told his dear friend Timothy, with regard to Christian discipleship, "The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith." That is, love is the necessary consequence of the Gospel he preached. Today, that charge is unfortunately blanched by all manner of social and cultural influences, reduced to the idea that "love" is somehow synonymous with quiet and unconditional acceptance. My dear friend Evan May looks back to Paul as the apostle reminded his students in Corinth about the true meaning of love, and why it actually changes the world. The study notes Evan has produced ought to sting a little as we remember that somehow the love of God is both patient and unrelenting toward wrongdoing, both kind and truthful, both eternal and immediate. I recommend this study without qualification, and hope to see more from Evan in the future. Frank Turk Speaker, writer, and blogger at www.teampyro.blogspot.com

No More Faking Fine written by Esther Fleece Allen and has been published by Zondervan this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-01-10 with Religion categories.

Scripture reveals a God who meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be. No More Faking Fine is your invitation to get honest with God through the life-giving language of lament. If you've ever been given empty clichés during challenging times, you know how painful it is to be misunderstood by well-meaning people. When life hurts, we often feel pressure--from others and ourselves--to keep it together, suck it up, or pray it away. But Scripture reveals a God who lovingly invites us to give honest voice to our emotions when life hits hard. For most of her life, Esther Fleece Allen believed she could bypass the painful emotions of her broken past by shutting them down altogether. She was known as an achiever and an overcomer on the fast track to success. But in silencing her pain, she robbed herself of the opportunity to be healed. Maybe you've done the same. Esther's journey into healing began when she discovered that God has given us a real-world way to deal with raw emotions and an alternative to the coping mechanisms that end up causing more pain. It's called lament--the gut-level, honest prayer that God never ignores, never silences, and never wastes. No More Faking Fine is your permission to lament, taking you on a journey down the unexpected pathway to true intimacy with God. Drawing from careful biblical study and hard-won insight, Esther reveals how to use God's own language to come closer to him as he leads us through our pain to the light on the other side, teaching you that: We are robbing ourselves of a divine mystery and a divine intimacy when we pretend to have it all together God does not expect us to be perfect; instead, he meets us where we are There is hope beyond your heartache, disappointment, and grief Like Esther, you'll soon find that when one person stops faking fine, it gives everyone else permission to do the same.

The author of Desiring God reveals the biblical evidence to help us see and savor what the pleasures of God show us about Him. Includes a study guide for individual and small-group use. Isn’t it true—we really don’t know someone until we understand what makes that person happy? And so it is with God! What does bring delight to the happiest Being in the universe? John Piper writes, that it’s only when we know what makes God glad that we’ll know the greatness of His glory. Therefore, we must comprehend “the pleasures of God.” Unlike so much of what is written today, this is not a book about us. It is about the One we were made for—God Himself. In this theological masterpiece—chosen by World Magazine as one of the 20th Century’s top 100 books, John Piper reveals the biblical evidence to help us see and savor what the pleasures of God show us about Him. Then we will be able to drink deeply—and satisfyingly—from the only well that offers living water. What followers of Jesus need now, more than anything else, is to know and love—behold and embrace—the great, glorious, sovereign, happy God of the Bible. “This is a unique and precious book that everybody should read more than once.” —J.I. Imagine the warm feeling you get when you are wrapped in a soft and comfortable blanket. We may be afraid, tense, sad or just need to feel God’s love, and somehow that blanket gives us the sense of security. Did you go through 2020 angry, depressed, or sad? What gave you security through the year of 2020? Has your life and priorities changed though this pandemic? What gave you hope when you did not see any hope in sight? Were you able to tele-work or did you lose your job? Did you struggle every day? When 2021 came, what were you thankful for? What did you pray for when 2020 went away and 2021 came, with the same pandemic? Only God knows what is going to happen every day of our lives. We can trust Him daily to help us and keep us. But we must ask Him for help and let Him help us. Situations and failures may seem like a disaster, but He has it all under control! He wants us to let Him have control of our lives. God can use our mistakes of the past and use them for His Glory and for our good. When things happen that are not under control, God will keep us anchored – if we let Him. That is easier said than done. Sometimes, we want to go outside and scream because things are not going in the direction, we want them to go. But there is always plenty of action going on underneath the surface and in the Spiritual realm. God asks us to keep trusting Him. He always has our best interest in heart -no matter what it looks like! But we must choose Him to be our Good, Good Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and the Holy Spirit as our Comforter, Guide, Teacher, and Intercessor. That is a package deal – three in one and one in three.

The secret to parenting success is out! Children need love, parents need respect. It's as simple and complex as that. Bestselling author Dr. Emerson Eggerichs has studied family dynamics for more than 30 years, earning a Ph.D. in Child and Family Ecology. As a senior pastor for nearly two decades, he builds on a foundation of strong biblical principles, walking the reader through an entirely new way to approach the family dynamic. When frustrated with an unresponsive child, a parent doesn’t declare, “You don’t love me.” Instead, the parent asserts, “You are being disrespectful right now.” A parent needs to feel respected, especially during conflicts. When upset a child does not whine, “You don’t respect me.” Instead, a child pouts, “You don’t love me.” A child needs to feel loved, especially during disputes. But here’s the rub: An unloved child or teen negatively reacts in a way that feels disrespectful to a parent. A disrespected parent negatively reacts in a way that feels unloving to the child. This dynamic gives birth to the FAMILY CRAZY CYCLE. This book teaches you to: See love and respect as basic family needs Stop the Family Crazy Cycle of conflict Parent in six biblical ways that energize your children Discipline defiance and overlook childishness Be the mature one since parenting is for adults only Become a loving parent in God's eyes, regardless of a child's response Based on what the Bible says about parenting, this book focuses on achieving healthy family dynamics. Dr. Eggerichs offers unprecedented transparency from his wife and three adult children, who share wisdom gained from the good, the bad, and the ugly of their family life. It's all here in this eye-opening exploration of the biblical principles on parenting that can help make families function as God intended.
