A widowed Civil War veteran, Matthew Hawkins doesn't know what to expect from a night at the Jeweled Ladies. All he wants is one night to feel like a man again. But when he's paired with Miss Topaz Gold, he's stunned by how deeply she makes him feel. Former mail-order bride Millie Townsend came to the Jeweled Ladies and gave up her name because she thought it was the key to her salvation after her husband died. It doesn't take long to realize she isn't Topaz Gold. She only wants to be a wife and mother, not a whore. But when Matthew offers to take her away from the Jeweled Ladies, will Millie be allowed to leave? The Jeweled Ladies series by Maggie Chase will delight fans of historical westerns by Victoria Dahl, Molly O'Keefe and Vanessa Vale. "Interested in some sexy stories set in the American West? His Topaz, Their Emerald and Her Ebony will fit the bill. I look forward to seeing what Maggie Chase writes next." - Jennifer Porter, Romance Novel News "This is an interesting story, not just for the romance, which is sizzling, but also for the details about the inner workings of an old west brothel. I recommend this for anyone who likes spicy romance about the strong ladies of the west and the men who love them." -- Goodreads reviewer Mary Dieterich

A testy encounter with A-list director Jeff McConnell provokes her into dusting off her ambitions to become a writer. Taunted by McConnell, Cassie decides to write a screenplay to show him what she can do-but she is at a loss for a story. While shopping at an antiques fair, Cassie buys a jeweled brooch containing a rare Imperial Topaz. She learns the brooch was once owned by a mysterious red-haired woman who lived in Ouro Preto, a fabled eighteenth-century city in Brazil, known for its Topaz mines and rivers of gold. As Cassie fingers the brooch, she feels a powerful connection to the red-haired woman, who lived half a century before. So great is her obsession with the story, Cassie quits her job and abandons McConnell, with whom she is falling in love. After traveling to Brazil, Cassie arrives in Ouro Preto to track down the clues which lead to Amanda Savage. A child of two continents and a jazz-age rebel, Amanda proved to be a formidable activist in her day, as she challenged the aristocracy and their treatment of the local miners. Amanda's courage blossoms in Cassie who is driven to solve the riddle of Amanda's death and bring the legendary tale of the Topaz Woman to light. How Cassie writes the story of Amanda Savage, battles the studio and Jeff McConnell, brings this romantic adventure to its exciting conclusion.

A Golden Topaz Or Heart Jewel Namely A Conscience Purified And Pacified By The Blood And Spirit Of Christ written by Francis Whiddon and has been published by Puritan Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-11-05 with Religion categories.

This work by Whiddon is his only known work. It was primarily prepared for his flock to teach them and remind them about living well before God with a conscience that is purified (regenerated) and pacified (put at peace) by the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of the Spirit of Christ. His principle text is Hebrews 13:18, “For we trust we have a good conscience, willing in all things to live honestly.” Whiddon called this work “his tract” to his flock that they might read over and study the contents so as not to forget how to live their life before Christ and men with a “good conscience.” He covers the definition and meaning of a good conscience; the opposed nature of a natural conscience; the means to purify and pacify a fallen sinner’s conscience; how to hold onto a good conscience and how to exercise it. Edmund Calamy makes a notation of Whiddon in his work “The Nonconformist’s Memorial” and notes the exceptional character of Whiddon in passing, and the popularity of this work, “The Golden Topaz.” This is not a scan or facsimile, has been updated in modern English for easy reading and has an active table of contents for electronic versions.
