Sabemos que la Revolución de 1910 alteró el orden social, político y económico del país, conocemos sus causas y a sus principales protagonistas; sin embargo, es inevitable preguntarse si este conflicto, tan significativo para la formación del Estado benefactor mexicano, podría haberse evitado. Entre otras respuestas, Pedro Salmerón y Felipe Ávila son determinantes al afirmar que no es posible hablar de una sola Revolución mexicana, sino de una maderista, otra zapatista, una más villista y la triunfante constitucionalista, cada una la continuación de múltiples luchas, movilizaciones y resistencias acumuladas a lo largo del siglo XIX y los primeros años del XX.
