El segundo volumen de la colección Culturas Musicales de Colombia contiene varios artículos, ensayos, entrevistas y documentales fruto de trabajos de investigación académicos y no académicos que desde diversas posturas, teóricas o experienciales, se han interesado por la participación de las mujeres en la música de nuestro país y las relaciones y roles de género que se desprenden de aquella. El libro es un viaje a través del tiempo y el espacio de la música nacional en el que se descubren algunas de sus múltiples texturas sonoras y poéticas. Estos textos nos permiten abrir partituras, imaginarios de género y acudir al ejercicio de la memoria que permite seguir cantando lo mismo y lo distinto en cada versión. A través de los ensayos contenidos en MUJERES EN LA MÚSICA EN COLOMBIA se explora el trabajo creador de mujeres que han cantado, interpretado el piano, apropiado repertorios, contribuido al gozo de espacios comunitarios y compuesto obras ejecutadas por intérpretes en diversos lugares del mundo; y de igual manera, se registran los impedimentos que continúan truncando la libre participación de las mujeres en la música. El material que se encuentra en este volumen resulta representativo de dicha participación y, al mismo tiempo, revela la urgente necesidad de fortalecer la musicología de género como un campo de investigación que, además de visibilizar la vida y la obra de las mujeres en Colombia, tome una postura crítica y analítica a partir de las teorías feministas, las teorías de género, los estudios de masculinidades y la musicología queer. Este libro invita a tomar el riesgo de hacer investigaciones que se abran a estas teorías del conocimiento. No solo desde los espacios que han comenzado a recorrer las personas que aportaron sus ensayos y documentales, sino desde la imaginación de quienes se aprestan a emprender proyectos. La lectura, esperamos, ampliará las posibilidades de encontrar respuestas, conexiones, relaciones o nuevas aproximaciones a historias, eventos, repertorios y prácticas musicales. La colección Culturas Musicales en Colombia pretende hacer aportes significativos en por lo menos tres áreas: el fortalecimiento de la investigación en música en el país, la visibilización y documentación de prácticas musicales que tienen o han tenido lugar dentro de nuestro territorio, y el apoyo a estudios que contribuyan al desarrollo de nuevas formas de comprender y articular la diversidad cultural que nos caracteriza. This book explores the historical and contemporary connections between art and politics in Colombia. These relations are unique because of the ways in which they are saturated by violence, as the country has passed through conquest, struggles for Independence, fighting between political factions, civil war, paramilitaries, narco-traffickers and state violence. This seemingly unending stream of violence gives art in Colombia one of its main themes. The lavishly illustrated essays, written by Colombian authors, examine Colombian visual arts, music, theatre, literature, cinema, indigenous arts, popular culture, militant publications and recent protest movements, analysing them with tools drawn from contemporary philosophy and theory.
