Clemente Mimun è un giornalista e conduttore televisivo italiano. Attivo nel settore dal 1976, approda pochi anni dopo in Rai, per poi fondare il TG5 insieme a Enrico Mentana nel 1991. Dal 1994 al 2002 ha assunto la direzione del TG2, per dirigere successivamente il TG1 e Rai Parlamento. Dal 2007 è direttore del TG5.

Da Roberto Benigni sul set di Pinocchio agli incontri con Woody Allen, per ritrovarsi di fronte a Jerry Lewis seduto alla sua scrivania, o assieme a Vasco Rossi alle prese con una dieta terrificante, o accanto alla squadra del cuore, la Lazio, da tifoso e da dirigente. Ha attraversato la Prima e la Seconda Repubblica - di cui qui ripesca politici e giornalisti (da Andreotti a Berlusconi e Craxi, da Mentana a Frajese) -, ha litigato con colleghi illustri (Indro Montanelli, Marco Travaglio) e con direttori generali della Rai, ha conosciuto giornalisti fannulloni e talenti precari (Enrico Lucci), ha visto dal di dentro i meccanismi del cosiddetto servizio pubblico, la Rai, e della tv commerciale, al Tg5. Published in 1559 and appearing here for the first time in English, La Villa is a rare source of Renaissance landscape theory. Written by Bartolomeo Taegio, a Milanese jurist and man of letters, after his banishment (possibly for murder, Thomas E. Beck speculates), the text takes the form of a dialogue between two gentlemen, one a proponent of the country, the other of the city. While it is not a gardening treatise, La Villa reflects an aesthetic appreciation of the land in the Renaissance, reveals the symbolic and metaphorical significance of sixteenth-century gardens for their owners, and articulates a specific philosophy about the interaction of nature and culture in the garden. This edition of the original Italian text and Beck's English translation is augmented with notes in which Beck identifies numerous references to literary sources in La Villa and more than 280 people and places mentioned in the dialogue. The introduction illuminates Taegio's life and intellectual activity, his obligations to his sources, the cultural context, and the place of La Villa in Renaissance villa literature. Italian cinema is internationally well-known for the ground-breaking experience of Neo-Realism, comedy "Italian-Style," Spaghetti Westerns, and the horror movies of the seventies. However, what is rather unfamiliar to wider audiences is Italian cinema's crucial and enduring affair with literature. In fact, since the very beginning, literature has deeply influenced how Italian cinema has defined itself and grown. This book provides an empirical approach to this complex and fruitful relationship. The aim is to present discussions dealing with significant Italian film adaptations from literary materials which greatly exemplify the variety of styles, view-points, and attitudes produced by such an alliance, throughout the different periods. Among the adaptations discussed, are those that have followed trends and critical debates, making them, at times, rather problematic.
