Optical holography is a promising non-contact 3D imaging technique. Effectively using the coherence property of the light, the optical holography can store the interference information of the object light beam with the reference light beam in a holographic recording medium or a digital camera and retrieve/read-out the 3D image information. Optical holography offers storage, three-dimensional imaging and displays, industrial non-destructive testing and surface profiling, virtual and augmented reality, holographic teleconferencing, and product design and prototyping. This book presents a few recent advancements in holography and its applications.

Basics Of Interferometry written by P. Hariharan and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-07-28 with Science categories.

Optical interferometry is used in communications, medical imaging, astonomy, and structural measurement. With the use of an interferometer engineers and scientists are able to complete surface inspections of micromachined surfaces and semiconductors. Medical technicians are able to give more consise diagnoses with the employ of interferometers in microscopy, spectroscopy, and coherent tomography. Originating from a one-day course, this material was expanded to serve as an introduction to the topic for engineers and scientists that have little optical knowledge but a need for more in their daily work lives. The need for interferometry knowledge has crossed the boundaries of engineering fields and Dr. Hariharan has written a book that answers the questions that new practitioners to interferometry have and haven't even thought of yet. Basics of Interferometry, Second Edition includes complete updates of all material with an emphasis on applications. It also has new chapters on white-light microsopy and interference with single photons. - Outstanding introduction to the world of optical interferometry with summaries at the begining and end of each chapter, several appendices with essential information, and worked numerical problems - Practical details enrich understanding for readers new to this material - New chapters on white-light microscopy for medical imaging and interference with single photons(quantum optics)

Holography has matured over the years since it was first invented by Dennis Gabor and further developed by many workers during the last decade. With some applications a commercial reality and many more continually appearing, it is now possible to compile a volume devoted to the applications of holography. This book consists primarily of papers presented at the second U.S. Japan Seminar on holography, held in Washington, D.C., from October 20-27, 1969, under the auspices of the National Academy of Sciences, National Science Foundation, and the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science. In addition to most of the papers presented at the seminar, several others are included because they cover important applications which are appropriate to this volume. Attendance at the seminar was limited to ten delegates from each country; these delegates being chosen so as to permit the seminar to include as wide a range of subjects as possible, with each delegate being recognized as an authority in his particular field of holography. In addition, Dr. Gilbert Devey (Program 'Director for Engineering Systems for the National Science Foundation, and the one most responsible for making the seminar possible), Professor Wolf F.
