"This text is a new book. It is called "Holy Wisdom and The Logos of God' (The Four Lost Apocryphal Christian Gospels of Truth, Philip, Mary, and Thomas with the Secret Revelation of John). Though new, I have extensively redone or rewritten most the material found in my previous book, Truth. What is Truth? ...In this text, I have decreased (some) Over-explanation or interpretations across the board...Comments on science are now in Appendices or here or there within Introductions. I endeavored to make all of the books closer to the core Coptic (and"Gnostic") message. It is a text along the "Judeo-Christological Gnostic" spectrum. Yet, I have consciously written it for anyone of a "loving and caring" sprispiritual persuasion or practice. I might suggest first read the Gospels and Secret John - then go back and read the introductions, appendices, addendums (and so forth)." -- Author's note, page 7.

Sophia The Wisdom Of God written by Sergei Bulgakov and has been published by SteinerBooks this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1993 with Philosophy categories.

"[Bulgakov] was a torchbearer for what was coming to be called Sophiology.... His championship for Sophia was clearly an attempt to revitalize Orthodoxy and to reestablish the spirit of the divine feminine so that the Church should not remain off-balanced by its Christocentric view." --Caitlin Matthews, Sophia, Goddess of Wisdom There is a great hunger to recover the feminine aspect of the Divinity. But much searching has left Christians disappointed and seeking the "Goddess" elsewhere. In this brave theological work, Bulgakov shows how the Divine Sophia, in whom all things are created, is present in the Holy Trinity itself and how, as the "creaturely Sophia," she works together with her divine counterpart in the work of the Holy Spirit for the redemption of the world.

"Silvia Schroer's stunning work on Wisdom breaks new ground, with its challenge to move beyond traditional and Western ways of hearing, reading, and interpreting the biblical text. The work calls all people to ethical responsibility for the sake of all creation. Written with grace, illumined by insight, and meticulously researched, this text is thoroughly engaging. It takes into account the images of personified wisdom as they appear in both the First and Second Testaments. "Schroer's work offers both the scholarly community and the general public a new and bold sense of great hope in the midst of the ongoing global struggle for solidarity: human beings with one another, and human beings with creation. Distinctly refreshing in its approach, depth, and breadth, this work needs to be a part of every scholarly conversation on Wisdom. It must be taken seriously by readers in general if transformation at its deepest level is to continue, and the reign of God celebrated." -- Carol J. Dempsey, University of Portland

Sergei Bulgakov, born in Russia in 1871, was one of the principal Eastern theologians of the twentieth century. At the age of thirty he was appointed professor of political economy at the University of Kiev. After a crisis of faith, Bulgakov declared himself an unbeliever in 1888, but in a slow process he moved from Marxism to Idealism, and then from Idealism to a rediscovered Orthodoxy. By the time of the two Revolutions of 1917, Bulgakov was one of the best known Orthodox theologians in Russia. In 1918 he was ordained priest, and fled Moscow in danger of imminent arrest. Arriving in Paris in 1925 he was to live and work there until his death in 1944, his life inextricably bound up with the Russian theological institute, Saint-Serge, of which he was a founder member and subsequent professor, rector and dean. In this timely work, Aidan Nichols introduces the life and work of Bulgakov and provides a systematic presentation of his dogmatic theology. 'The present book has appeared at exactly the right moment. Alike in Russia and in the West, we are witnessing a veritable "Bulgakov renaissance" . . . this is the first comprehensive and systematic survey of his theology in English.' Bishop Kallistos of Diokleia 'As research on Bulgakov by Catholics and Protestants as well as Orthodox grows in volume, it is a great help to have this authoritative, comprehensive guide. I hope it will encourage further study and assimilation of one of the most searching and moving as well as one of the most complex of modern theological minds.' Dr Rowan Williams, Archibshop of Canterbury Aidan Nichols, OP, is an English Dominican of Blackfriars, Cambridge. He has written thirty books, chiefly on aspects of Catholic theology and theological history, but also on Eastern Orthodoxy and Anglicanism.
