Homelandings is a critical exploration of the ways that postcolonial diasporas challenge exclusive formulations of ‘home’ and ‘homeland’ based on racist and heteronormative assumptions. It critically engages with Foucault’s notions of “biopolitics" and "governmentality" as a conjoined technology of governance in the era of neoliberal capitalism ushered into the global economy from the late 1970s. Drawing on texts produced by diasporic people in the UK and USA whose work resists and re-appropriates exclusive home sites produced by trends of Anglo-American neoliberalism, it exposes entrenched discourses of exclusion rooted in race, class, and sexuality. In doing so, it offers an urgent intervention for students and scholars of cultural studies, postcolonial studies, Anglophone literature, comparative literature, Race and Ethnicity studies, and Queer studies.

If you believe in "thoughts become things", well this has happened for a lonely chap by the name of Stanley Charles Young, Great Uncle of the author of this short book. Stanley had always intended to write about his experiences whilst serving as a bomb-aimer on a Lancaster bomber for Bomber Command. He never got around to doing it, so armed with a manuscript typed out on an old type-writer Robert decided to make an effort to share one of Stanley's stories to whoever may be interested. The book describes pre-flight, the flight out, the bombing of Hitler's Berlin at the time, the scramble out and to the landing, and checking for damage to the Lancaster bomber. Although brief Stan's thought has become a thing in the form of this book. Thank you for your service Stanley Young.

The digital cultural record has a powerful role to play in both new and future strategies of creating new homes within the digital milieu.
