The Hope Of Salvation written by Harding Hedgpeth and has been published by Xulon Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2008-04 with categories.

Today, many churches teach that once a person believes and trusts in Jesus Christ, their Salvation is assured. They can know with certainty that they will go to heaven.no matter what. The churches further teach that the individual has no part to play in their salvation. God does it all. These teachings are not Biblical. The Bible teaches that no person can know their ultimate destiny. The best one can do is to live a life of demonstrated faith and hope they will make it to heaven. Indeed, a person does have a part to play in their destiny, and by their choices they can stay on the pathway that leads to salvation or they can depart from it. This book clarifies the Biblical path to Salvation, articulates a Biblical argument that refutes the 'assurance of salvation' doctrine and reveals the spiritual dangers that are produced by this teaching. Harding Hedgpeth is a professional test pilot and the holder of 9 aviation world records set in the B-1 Bomber. He has no formal theological training. He does not belong to any formal church. As he characterizes himself, he is a disciple of Jesus Christ, cleverly disguised as a test pilot. Harding was raised as a Presbyterian, married a Catholic and didn't realize that the Bible was God's truth until 1987 when he was 40 years old. He has immersed himself in the study of God's Word ever since. The study of God's Word led him to realize that today's churches are leading their parishioners astray in some important areas. One of those areas is the doctrine of 'the assurance of salvation.' Accordingly, Harding felt a strong compulsion to write this book. Though a relatively short book, it has taken four years to research and one year to write.

The most popular source of theological hope for American Christians is that of Jrgen Moltmann. Preachers, teachers, and lay people reflect Moltmann's influence, with their hope in a this-worldly eschatology and a suffering God. However, an exclusive reliance on that hope deprives the church of crucial resources in the face of global economic, environmental, and military crises. This book explores Moltmannian hope and considers its costs before looking elsewhere for additional contributions, from Thomas Aquinas's theological virtue of hope to nihilism and beyond, in order to encourage the church to sustain and practice hope in Jesus Christ, our only hope.

We all long for certainty in life, yet things often don't go as we expect. When facing illness, job loss, strained relationships, and other struggles, our impulse is to question God and strive to fix things ourselves. In this book, Shelly Miller, a trusted ministry leader, explores how difficult times can actually be purposeful times of spiritual growth. Weaving the exodus story from the Bible with her own story, she shares how to focus on God rather than trying to overcome challenges in our own limited strength. Each chapter features a simple spiritual practice to help us enjoy the peace and security that is only possible through Christ. Uncertain seasons will soon be translated as an aha instead of an oh no.

Is It Possible to Live this Way, a translation of the first part of Luigi Giussani's Si Può Vivere Così?, addresses the virtue of hope. A compilation of Giussani's conversations with young people who have chosen the path of the consecrated life in the Church - that is, have chosen to live their lives in the world according to the "evangelical counsels" of poverty, chastity, and obedience - it proposes an unusual yet reasonable approach to living as a Christian. As in all his works, Giussani encourages young people to be serious about their own existence and loyal to their experience. The conversations reported here are fascinating and insightful, providing support for a way of life that today is frequently questioned, rejected, or censured.
