“To have a service dog like Able should be the medication any soldier is prescribed who has gone out and had trauma of some kind.” In Hope Has a Cold Nose, Christine Hassing relays true stories of military veterans and others who rose from the ashes of PTSD and MST with the help of their service dogs. Devoting every chapter to a different human-canine pair, Hassing shares the story of each person with PTSD and their service dog with pathos and creativity. These powerful stories, part testimonial, part author’s interpretation using rhythm and rhyme, bring important insights about how service dogs help people with PTSD and MST in countless ways. From sensing a nightmare and waking a veteran before terror takes hold, to placing a comforting paw on someone’s shoulder to ward off a panic attack, these dogs play a key role in helping those who’ve lived through trauma reintegrate into society. Lovingly written, Hope Has a Cold Nose is a unique and compelling collection of survivors’ stories for dog lovers of all kinds, for those who’ve experienced PTSD and their loved ones, and for those interested in how service dogs can help people heal from the deepest emotional wounds.

I always knew Howard Hughes was Bob Hope in makeup. I knew who Bob Hope was since the ’70s. I began gathering facts and proofs to prove beyond reasonable doubt that I knew what I was talking about! I wrote this book because I was tired of telling my theory to just one or two people at a time. Howard Hughes was Bob Hope in makeup, and he told you so in his TV skits, in his movies, and in his books. The life of Bob Hope was a cover story bought and paid for by the United States government—an alleged life. Howard Rupert Hughes Jr. was “Sonny” billionaire industrialist, oilman, movie producer, screenwriter, director, photographer, and inventor of satellites, lasers, ships, planes, jets, and rockets. Hope himself stated that he had a group of writers, and he was the one with two (2) heads. And most of all, he was a character actor in his own movies from his own studios. I have in my possession a magazine ad with Hope lying in bed, and the header above his picture read: “Two of the most famous names in America sleep together.” My theory is, Howard Hughes disappeared, went underground, and reappeared in makeup as Bob Hope in an “alleged life,” wearing a mask. Howard Hughes was talking behind his Bob Hope face. Here’s a quote from Hope: “I do my best impersonations right in front of the people, and they don’t get it. They don’t listen.” Hope stated “my names” would go down in history. Another quote from Hope stated, “My sixty years with NBC proves Lincoln was wrong. You can fool all the people all the time.” He did!

Cold Noses At The Pearly Gates A Book Of Hope written by Gary Kurz and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997 with Animals categories.

"Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates" was written to provide comfort and hope to those who have suffered loss of the family pet. It is estimated that nearly 20 million pets are lost or pass away annually in the United States. More often than not, pets are considered bonafide members of the family. Their passing causes the family grief and pain as surely as if the loss was a human member. In the field of Psychiatry, there is no shortage of counselors or books to help the grieving deal with their grief. Invariably however, the thrust is for the griever to "move on" or have "closure". Unfortunately, most people do not want closure when it comes to someone they love. They don't want to move on. They have spiritual questions and concerns. They want answers. They want more. Cold Noses at the Pearly Gates gives them more. Where Psychiatry stops, the author of Cold Noses goes on. Focusing his more than 20,000 hours of formal and personal Bible study, Gary Kurz addresses the big questions that most pet people ponder. He compassionately and expertly guides the reader to a place of understanding, a place of hope and comfort. Since being published in 1996, Cold Noses has established itself as the authoritative work addressing animal afterlife. Recognized by sources of major and animal groups, shelters, and psychiatric clinics across the country as the book of hope it claims to be, it has been used as part of the grief therapy regimen in many of these institutions. This book is a must read for anyone who loves animals and a must stock for libraries and places of business in the pet industry.

Following a nuclear holocaust, Nathan Taylor and his family face grim choices in order to stay alive. Fleeing deadly radiation, plague and desperate men, Nathan, an army officer, leads his wife and their two teenage sons away from chaos and madness toward his ancestral home in Kentucky. Horrors lie in their path. From the prison struggling to maintain control of its inmates, to the desperadoes who enslave anyone who comes their way, even survival may cost Nathan his humanity...or that of his sons, Joshua and David. Nathan struggles to keep his family intact, but it requires making brutal choices. He wants to protect his sons, but knows they now must be deadly and cold at times. Nathan's home has been spared from the worst of the destruction, but a larger conflict over scarce resources erupts. For the survivors to have any chance they will have to fight and the desperate journey has transformed young Joshua and David into men called upon to lead and sacrifice. Torn between harsh realities, and wanting to hold onto fleeting childhoods, they are often conflicted and angry about the roles thrust upon them. Much will depend on how Nathan and his sons respond to a madman and his military regime seeking to conquer the fledgling community they are helping to build. GLIMMER OF HOPE is an epic tale of one family's endurance and triumph after tomorrow's apocalypse.

The conspiracy theorists were right! Who knew? A renegade president has used FEMA and government loopholes to rescind the Constitution, dismiss Congress, and all but appoint himself King Lording I. He rules with an iron fist and a callous disregard for human life. Oppose him and die. But true American nature begins to bleed through and dissent leads to rebellion. At the core of the resistance is Mace Wallace, lone survivor of the Cochise Stronghold Massacre. The Arizona militia SASS, Southern Arizona Sportsman’s Society, is wiped out at that monument for daring to resist Lording when he makes his power grab. Just before the final attack that leaves a radioactive crater, Mace is sent to enlist the help of the Arizona governor. After two years of evading capture, Mace joins the resistance in Chicago. The resistance, organized by the mysterious Third, has been a debris choked river, pushing to break through. Its members pace their imposed, caged existence, eager for the fight to regain their freedom. Mace comes up with a plan to shake things up and succeeds on an epic scale. Somehow, Mace is recognized and, with Lording’s goons close on their heels, the local resistance leaders, Dell and Layla, whisk Mace through the streets of Chicago. A scheme on a national level develops and Mace, along with his newfound friends, heads back to Arizona, where it all started for him. The country as a whole is a powder keg, ready to blow. Mace becomes the spark that lights that fuel and fires up a nation in the process.
