"'We are meant to be hope-filled people,' says noted spiritual writer and Living Faith contributor Joyce Rupp, but how do we keep an enduring sense of hope 'in a society where divisiveness and hostility doggedly work against' it? In this beautiful and profound book, Rupp helps us follow the only path that leads to real hope: the path of building our 'relationship with the Holy One who dwells within us.' Based on the seasons of the liturgical year, and suffused with real-life wisdom, Joyce Rupp’s Constant Hope will be an invaluable companion on your journey of faith, leading you to the One who has been encouraging and wooing you to enter more fully into relationship, and helping you respond in hope and joy to the love that God constantly offers."--

Come with me as we open this bottle of memories together and partake one glass at a time. We will visit some romantic, exciting, tragic and dangerous places. Life is simply dancing in one's own personal ballroom. Our entire life should be a continual learning process in which we dance with many different partners to many different melodies while trying to enjoy the moment. Try to learn, be productive, and enjoy today. Elanor Rosevelt said, "When you cease to contribute, you begin to die."There was a day when the pain was loud, and hope was quiet, but I do remember when once again, I began to hear that "Whisper of Hope." Challenges, choices, and circumstances are part of everyone's life. Hope is a powerful tool and can keep us all searching for a better tomorrow. Most of my life has been in pursuit of that "elusive ghostlike shadow" in my heart, which if captured and brought under control could bring me closer to a place of contentment and happiness. Learn to listen for that "Whisper."If you quit learning, the emotional and mental dying process begins. Perseverance is my companion and friend. You don't quit life because you get old, you get old because you quit life. We all need to be careful that our perception doesn't become our clouded reality. There is no guarantee your choices will always be the right ones, but you can learn to evaluate each situation as to its pros, cons, and effects on yourself and those in your world. Many times, I had to fight to prove myself as the "new kid" in school as well as in life. Growing up I had a deep sub-conscience understanding that my hero would come along to help me, and things would turn out just fine. Having that hope was a powerful tool in my life. The time came when I began to realize that as long as I continually work on making better decisions, choices, and adjustments in my life; this would become my hero. A perfect world has so much to offer. Even without a lot of positive influences, hope can and will take us to a better place. Are you running from your past, or to your future? I try to move within the limits of my abilities while continuing to push boundaries. I believe in living my life in whatever circumstances I find myself. Sure, I get knocked down, but I refuse to stay there. Try to always look to the day that is coming, not the day that is gone. Your best teacher is your last mistake.

The most popular source of theological hope for American Christians is that of Jurgen Moltmann. Preachers, teachers, and lay people reflect Moltmann's influence, with their hope in a this-worldly eschatology and a suffering God. However, an exclusive reliance on that hope deprives the church of crucial resources in the face of global economic, environmental, and military crises. This book explores Moltmannian hope and considers its costs before looking elsewhere for additional contributions, from Thomas Aquinas's theological virtue of hope to nihilism and beyond, in order to encourage the church to sustain and practice hope in Jesus Christ, our only hope.

What happens when a woman on the run ends up married to the richest man in Texas? Keely O’Brien has spent the past five months on the run, but no matter what she does, she can’t seem to evade the ring of dangerous criminals that killed her brother in Chicago. When she spots an ad for a wife from the owner of a small ranch on a remote stretch of Texan desert, she knows she’s found the perfect hiding spot. The Wolf Point Ring might be searching far and wide for her, but they wouldn’t think to look in tiny, sun-scorched town of Twin Rivers, Texas. Now if she can just keep her new husband from finding out why she really married him… Agamemnon “Wes” Westin’s feet might be firmly planted in West Texas soil, but his heart is running… Running from the loss of his first wife and stillborn daughter, and running from the fear of suffering loss again. Unfortunately, he has little choice about needing to marry, but he does have a choice about who he marries. If he has to share his roof with someone, he wants a woman who works hard and doesn’t complain. That’s why he decides to run an ad for a bride, claiming that he owns a small ranch, rather than the sprawling cattle empire he inherited from his father. After all, what woman is going to be upset when she finds out her husband is one of the richest men in Texas? When Wes discovers Keely is hiding from criminals who want her dead, he can’t help but protect her—even if she’s irate with him for lying about the size of his ranch. When danger arrives in Twin Rivers, both Wes and Keely find themselves facing their deepest fears. Will they let their pain and past losses ruin their dreams? Or will Wes and Keely find a way to forge a new life together? From jagged mountains and green river valleys, to cattle ranches and vivid sunsets, Tomorrow’s Constant Hope offers a meaningful story about simpler times, sincere faith, and learning to love again after loss.

One of the most uplifting stories you will ever read. Abram Goldberg is a beacon of joy and optimism, and a master of keeping perspective. The day Abram and his mother arrived at Auschwitz death camp they both knew it would be her last. In their final moment together, Abram's mum urged her nineteen-year-old son to 'do everything humanly possible to survive, and tell people what happened here'. Then she was taken to a gas chamber and murdered. Abram had already endured and survived so much until that moment, but with his strength of hope, sometimes reduced to a flicker, he survived. After liberation, Abram eventually found his way to Belgium, where he met the love of his life, fellow Auschwitz survivor Cesia. The young couple came to Australia, where that flicker of hope grew as bright as the sun, illuminating everything they touched and everyone who came into their sphere. Without bitterness and always with perspective, Abram has never forgotten his mother's last words to him. And in their seventy-five years of marriage, Abram and Cesia have remained dedicated to educating people about the Holocaust and to living their lives to the fullest in tribute to its victims.
