Blood And Marrow Transplantation Long Term Management written by Bipin N. Savani and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-09-03 with Medical categories.

Currently more than 100,000 patients undergo blood and marrow transplantation (BMT) annually worldwide, a number which is steadily increasing. Long-term survival after BMT has improved significantly since its inception over 40 years ago, due to improved supportive care and early recognition of long-term complications. With broadening indications, more options for BMT, and improvement in survival, by 2020 there may be up to a million long-term survivors after BMT globally. Higher than average rates of second malignancies and cardiopulmonary, infectious, endocrine, and renal diseases, and bone loss or avascular necrosis amongst this population suggest that the rapidly swelling ranks of BMT survivors require more frequent screening and earlier interventions than the general population. The purpose of Blood and Marrow Transplantation Long-Term Management is to describe practical approaches to screening for and managing these late effects, with the goal of reducing preventable morbidity and mortality associated with BMT. This unique new book is the first to address the needs of the increasing population of long-term survivors after stem cell transplantation, making it a must-have resource for all oncologists, hematologists, and primary care physicians involved in the long-term management and care of BMT patients. Essentials Of Sleep Medicine written by M. Safwan Badr and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-05-03 with Medical categories.

This book provides an overview of sleep and sleep disorders for practicing clinicians. Sleep disorders represent a major portion of the chief complaints seen by pulmonologists and other clinicians. Patients with sleep-related conditions often present with non-specific complaints that require a broad and detailed knowledge of the wide range of sleep disorders and their consequences. This concise, evidence-based review of sleep medicine offers a guide to pulmonologists, primary care physicians, and all clinicians involved in caring for patients with sleep disorders. Providing a focused, scientific basis for the effects of sleep on human physiology, especially cardiac and respiratory physiology, chapters also outline a differential diagnosis for common sleep complaints and an evidence-based approach to diagnosis and management. This includes a review of the current standards of practice and of emerging technology and unresolved issues awaiting further research. In all, this book provides a clear diagnostic and management program for all the different sleep disorders and includes key points and summaries. This new edition expands the scope of the previous to include additional sleep disorders and the most affected populations. Six new chapters are added on health disparities in sleep medicine, models of care for patients with sleep disorders/care coordination, sleep disordered breathing in pediatric populations, sleep in hospitalized patients, sleep in pregnancy, and sleep in older patients. Essentials of Sleep Medicine is an invaluable resource for physicians, clinical psychologists, respiratory care practitioners, polysomnographic technologists, graduate students, clinical researchers, and other health professionals seeking an in-depth review of sleep medicine.
